Essie Luxeffects.... Flakies!!!!

So I've seen a few posts about Essie's new Luxeffects collection which is all topcoats. I got excited when I saw some of the swatches. You can check them out for yourself... Here are a few:

Chalkboard Nails - Essie Gold As It Gets
The Polishhaholic - Essie Holiday 2011 Luxeffects
Gotham Polish - Essie Shine of the Times

 *drool*
I knew I wanted "Shine of the Times" and "As Gold as it Gets" for sure. Now something you may not know about me... When I get a lemming, I become crazy obsessed with finding it and getting it. So as you can imagine I was going everywhere that I knew carried Essie polishes. I read on another blog that she found them at Ulta the other day, so that's where I went during my lunch break today :)

I was so happy to find that they had the whole collection. I decided to just get the two that I really wanted. So I grabbed one each of "Shine of the Times" and "As Gold as it Gets"... I walked away and was doing some browsing and decided to go back and snatch up the other SotT they had... hehehe yes I'm a greedy hoarder lol. But at least I am happy!!

Essie - Shine of the Times, As Gold as it Gets, Shine of the Times

I couldn't wait to use SotT so I decided to layer it over the polish I already had on, while in the Ulta parking lot lol, which is "Under Your Spell" from Wet n' Wild, a very pretty blackened red. With SotT over it, it really made me think of autumn leaves. So pretty, it was distracting me while I drove back to work, and even now while typing this post. Here are a few pics, sorry that they are so crummy, I took them with my phone so I could post them now, otherwise I'd have to wait til tomorrow since my internet is down :(

It looks a lot like Nubar "2010" But I think SotT is a bit denser with the flakies... maybe I will do a comparison... and if you are wondering what is on my index finger it is Nicole - "Make a Comet-ment" which looks a lot like China Glaze "Fairy Dust" IMO, but I think Nicole is a bit denser with the glitter :)

Well that's it for now. Please leave any questions or comments below. Are you planing on getting any of these polishes? Thanks for reading!!! :)

My haul from 7 Mile Fair a couple of weeks ago...

This is kinda late but, better late then never right :)  Warning: Picture Heavy!!!

So If your not from Milwaukee, WI your probably wondering what the heck is a 7 Mile Fair lol. When I was a kid it was all out doors and it when along the sides of a road called "7 Mile Road" You could find so much stuff. It's kinda like a huge flea market and everyone is selling something different. A lot of the stuff is focused on Mexican, and Spanish people with the music and clothing and food. (No offense to anyone)

I've always loved going because you never know what you are going to find. Nowadays it is mostly all in doors in a building off of 7 Mile Road. During the summer and warm months there is also a large outside section where people peddle their wares lol. A lot of them have polish so that was my mission when I went to find some good polish. Well this is what I found:
My 18 new polishes and a bottle of Kleancolor Cuticle remover

Holo's!!!!, Real holo's that is not like the Chunky holos lol

I heard the metallic's are good for stamping, I will have to try it out :)

I accidently bought 2 bottles of "Sparkle Emerald" from 2 differnet spots because they looked different at the time lol, also, not sure why it is emerald since it's actually blue.... hmmmm

Well there you have it. I plan to go back maybe next weekend to look for more, but this time I will be armed with a list lol.

Thanks for reading and please leave any questions or comments below, Have a great weekend!!!

More KleanColor Chunky Holo!!!

First off, I am really sorry about not posting sooner. I was going to the other day but we are having issues with our Internet service so the only place I can post from is my work. So without more talk here are some more of the Kleancolor Chunky Holo collection :) Enjoy!!!

First up is "Clover":

This is a very pretty green and I just loved it in the bottle. I swatched it above alone and over black. Just about all of the Chunky Holo's look the same over black. Since "Clover" is so sheer I decided to use underwear with this polish.
I used 2 coats of Jordana "Good Luck Charm" I felt like this was close to the color of clover and would work great with it.

This is 2 coats of "Clover" over "Good Luck Charm."I love the sparkle. I love green too, so this was a win for me.

Next is "Scarlet":

As you can see in this swatch that the "Scarlet," when layer over black becomes reddish too. I like the effect, but for this post I didn't layer.

This is a very deep red. I didn't need underwear at all and with 2 coats I had full opacity. The red is definitely one of my favorites from this collection. I love the sparkle and how it isn't over powering at all. With my crappy lens on my camera right now it is had to get picture on the flakies in the polish.

The last color for today is "Candy":

This is another holo that looks a bit different over black. It gives the black sort of a murky brown color. Not so sure how I feel about that lol. This is a pretty bright pink, but it's not neon.

Like "Scarlet" I did not need underwear for this polish. I hit full opacity in 2 coats. I think out of all of the polishes this is the brightest colored one.

Like another reader posted, these polishes look more like flakies then they do holo. Not sure why  they called them Chunky Holo's because there is nothing holo about them... anyways lol

The formula in these polishes are very thick, so you have to make sure the first coat is mostly dry before you add the next coat otherwise it's just going to get messy. There is a slight odor with these polishes but nothing real strong.

If your interested in buying these polishes yourself right now the seller on Ebay is having a sale, the link to the current active auction for these polishes is Kleancolor Nail Polish - Chuky Holo Set You get all 9 of the Chunky Holos and a bottle of Madly Matte.

Sorry...

Uggg... I've been horrible this past week. I've had a lot going on including spending all day Sunday working on my mom's computer trying to get rid of a virus.... and I don't even know that much about computers but my mom swears I do lol. I ended up reformatting her harddrive. How does the woman get so many viruses???

Any ways, I promise to have up some more reviews of the Kleancolor Chunky holo series tonight. I'm going to try and get a few posts lined up and ready to go too so I don't get behind on posting again. I also have a post of a recent haul from 7 Mile Fair (huge flea market dealeo) from a couple weeks ago.

Again I am sorry and I will try really hard to not let it happen again. Until later please enjoy this little piece of total cuteness :)
These are my babies (Gir and Stitch) sitting in front of my vanity while I'm getting ready :)

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Collection for under $20!!!!

So I was lucky to find a place to buy all 9 of the Kleancolor Chunky Holos for a really good price. I know a lot of people don't like ebay, but I found a seller that sells all 9 of the Holos and a bottle of "Madly Matte" for only $19 and free shipping!!! How awesome if that? You'll find the link to the sellers store and some exciting news at the end of this post :)

I just got my polishes in the mail yesterday and I was so excited. I was able to remember to take a pic of the package before I ripped into them lol.
Each bottle was wrapped individually and then they were all wrapped in bubble wrap together. Look at the hidden pretties :) Sorry for the somewhat blurry pics, my using an old lens on my camera until I can get a better one since my other one broke :( Here they are unwrapped:

Chunky Holo: Scarlet, Teal, Purple, Clover, and Candy
Chunky Holo: Black, Poppy, Fushia, Bluebell and Madly Matte

I swatched all of them on a color wheel right away alone and over black. Over black they all look the same except for "Scarlet," "Candy," and "Black" but you will see that when I get to those reviews :)
For the first review we have is "Teal"

A quick note about these polishes. I have noticed a slight odor with them but it's nothing over powering, but it is worth noting. I still love these polishes though :)

Here is the inital swatch I did and again sorry for the crappy pictures...
I like that there is a color to the base so it is still nice to wear alone. I decided to add a base coat though so I'd get full opacity. I used a Sally Girl polish, it doesn't have a name.. but there is a number I think I'd have to look. Anyways here is the base, I did 2 coats.
This polish does have a pretty blue to green shift but I just couldn't catch it with my crappy lens :( oh well. And here it is covered with 2 coats of "Chunky Holo Teal"
It was so hard to try and capture the prettiness of this polish.
At this angle you can see all the flakes in the polish. They mainly ranged from yellow, orange, and green. I've never done a matte nail so I figured I'd try it since I got a bottle with this set.

With the matte topcoat the flakies were a little easier to see, but I just wasn't feeling the matte look, I guess I just expect nails to be shiny and pretty lol. Well here are some more pics for you :)

So all in all I really like this polish. It's pretty and a bit on the subtle side. It went on great even though it is a bit on the thicker side but that didn't bother me at all. I did have an issue after I put the topcoat on but I think it was from the top coat it's self. I used "Out The Door" fast dry top coat and I had issues with the polish moving on my nails. Hard to describe but yeh I think I'll stick with my SV.

So do you want to get these pretty polishes all for yourself? here is the link to the ebay store: Beauty Couture They have 236 colors of Kleancolor polish and cosmetics along with a few other brands like Santeen, Cherimoya and the 2012 crackles, also NYX cosmetics, L.A Colors cosmetics and polishes, Nabi polish and cosmetics. For example you can get 80 Kleancolor polishes of your choice for $94.59 with free shipping!!! Now that's a great deal!

I've made an agreement with the seller that for every 10 people that order from them from my blog I will receive some polishes and I plan on using some of them for giveaways!!! I'm not sure if I should just do it for the people that ordered or for all of my followers, what do you think? When you order just make sure to use the code "peacock" They prices are great and cheaper then most other online stores. Please go check it out.

Again the ebay store is Beauty Couture and make sure to use the code "peacock"

Keep checking back for the reviews to the rest of the colors and updates for my giveaways. Please spread the word. The more people that order the more giveaways I will be able to have :) If you have any questions or comments please leave them below and thanks for reading!!
