Sticks N Stones In The Snow

I don't know why I didn't think of this combination before. I love how this turned out. I actually wore it for New Year's Eve, but I didn't go out, but I did wok in the morning lol. I went out for NYE when I first turned 21, and after that I've always stayed in. I just don't like going out for the big holidays because every place is more packed and more expensive. Plus you have to deal with all the idiots on the road. So I just stay home.

This year I spent it with my mom drinking a bottle of champagne and watching The Walking Dead marathon! I love that show. My poor mom had never seen it so I had to explain what was going on, but it was ok since I like to talk lol. Ok anyways on to my nails.

I LOVE Ninja Polish "Sticks N Stones" I really need to get another bottle. I don't think there is any polish this doesn't look awesome over. I started with my wonderful glue base, and then 3 coats of China Glaze "Glistening Snow" This is an awesome polish and it applies wonderfully. I should try and get a back up of this polish too if I can find one :)

I then applied 2 coats of SNS over all my nails except my ring finger.

On my ring finger I applied 3 coats of China Glaze "All That Glitters"

This polish really makes me think of Mardi Gras lol

I got the idea to layer this over GS from the sparse holo glitter in SNS. I think all the polishes worked well together.

I think everyone needs to own SNS, it makes a great topper for just about any polish. Every combination I've tried has looked nothing less then awesome!

So pretty and full of sparkle!

I've been having issues with my nails breaking a lot, I've been considering investing in a pair of Custom Nails, but i want to do a little more research on them first.

Well that's if for now. Have you found any combinations using Sticks N Stones that you Hate/Love? Do you own custom nails, or been considering getting them? Please let me know in the comments below. I may not always respond but I do read every comment :) Thanks so much for reading and have a great day!

Walking Dead Holidays

Today I wanted to share a mani with you that I just did and am wearing as I write this post. I also have a few pics of things I've gotten recently.

First, my mani...
I started a glue base like I did when ever I plan to wear glitter. I then applied 2 coats of China Glaze "With Love" which is a lovely bright red creme. It is a very opaque polish and I probably could have gotten away with just 1 coat, but I did 2 just because I can :)

This polish is from this years holiday collection Holiday Joy

I then did 2 coats of All That Glitters "Walking Dead" I won this polish in a giveaway a little while ago and  I think this is my first time wearing. I love that this polish is named after one of my favorite shows. It's metallic red, white and black glitter in various sizes in a sheer reddish base.

"Walking Dead" is a bit on the thicker side, I might have to add a little bit of thinner to it. It actually applied great despite being a bit thick. The pictures show 2 coats applied like normal polish. I didn't have to dab to fish for glitter, or place anything.

I like how it kinda muted "With Love" so it wasn't so bright. I think this is a great combo for this zombie named polish, but it also kinda works for the holiday season ") lol

I think red polishes are one of the hardest colors to do clean up on. What do you think?

So next I want to share a package that I got on X-mas eve. When I got the box I had no clue what it held. It was a very kind package from someone in a facebook group I'm in. It's called a RAOK (Random Act Of Kindness) and it really was. I haven't really celebrated X-mas for the last few years so the holidays just aren't the same. This little box really meant a lot to me and made my holiday really great. I owe it all to Sam H. :)

Everything wrapped and still in the box. After I read the card I decided to take pics since it really meant a lot.

 Everything out of the box.

Everything unwrapped. I love everything and included a lot of brands I haven't tried yet. The scents are so yummy. This package meant more then anyone can imagine.

Next up is my X-mas gift from my mom, even though we agreed we weren't doing gifts. When I said that her response was "But I'm your mother" lol My mom totally knows me. I LOVE Taco Bell and skulls.

She also got my favorite chocolates, Ferrero Rocher, and the sleep pants that i had recently pointed out at Walmart a few days ago :) The Eggnog taffy is open because I ate a piece before taking pics :) Taste just like eggnog, so good!

This is what I won from a multi blogger giveaway. The blogger I won my prize from was The Do It Yourself Lady The only thing missing is the rhinestone wheel that I just realized lol. It was just clear rhinestones.

The polishes are KleanColor "Holo Chrome," Finger Paints "Tough Art To Follow," Every Beauty "She Rock'd It!," and a min Zoya "Zuza"

Lastly are a few Julep polishes I got I don't remember what the boxes are they came from, but I know 3 of them I got for free using my points for a free box, and a free add-on :) I love these colors!

Julep "Vivien," "Ivy," "Cindy," and "Harper"

For more on Julep nail polish you can find a list of all of their polishes here!! Enjoy!

Well that's it for today. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed everything. Have a great night!!

Durability Of A Glue Base

Last month I found out about the awesome glue base. If you don't know what this is your totally missing out. I've posted about it before. It works really great and peels off so easy. I decided I wanted to see how long it would last. I started out with using 2 of the new China Glaze polishes from the Wicked Collection.

I started out with 2 coats of China Glaze "Cast A Spell" It's a beautiful golden black, that is much prettier then pictures can show.

I think this is different then the other black I have. I think it might be a little similar to Butter London "Wallis" but I'm not totally sure.

Look at that pretty golden shimmer.

Another polish from the Wicked Collection "Make A Spectacle" I didn't do a full comparison, but a side by side bottle view shows that this is similar to "Snow Globe" from the winter collection last year, except "Make A Spectacle is more iridescent.

I applied 1 coat of "Make A Spectacle" but you can't see how beautiful it is in pictures.

So I decided to wear this mani until it started looking crappy. I applied this on a Thursday and it lasted until Sunday night. It held up against a couple showers, but it's downfall was doing dishes lol. Here is what my nails looked like after doing the dishes on the last day:

Left hand - It looks great with just a bit of tip wear.

Right hand - The one nail cam off while doing dishes, I didn't even realize it at first lol.

I think having a glue base held up really well. One thing I did notice is that when removing the polish it didn't come off in the big easy pieces that it normally did. All in all I think it worked out really great and I highly recommend using glue as a nail polish base.

Well that's it for tonight. Thank you so much for reading. Have a great night!

Day 23: Inspired By A Movie

I couldn't decide what movie to use for today's mani. I went back an forth and finally chose "Dawn of the Dead" I really wanted to do a blood splatter so I knew I had to pick a zombie movie :) I really like the re-make because it takes place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin which is where I live lol. Plus I like the fact that the zombies can run. Ok well here is my mani...

I started out with a glue base coat. I've been using it recently since I've been changing my polish everyday and it just seems to make things easier for me. I've also notice that my nails haven't been peeling like they use to. I'm not sure if it has to do with the glue or something else but... yeah lol so over the glue I used 3 coats of OPI "Skull & Glossbones" on all my nails except my ring fingers.

On my ring fingers I also used the glue base coat, and then I used 3 coats of Wet N Wild "Once Upon A Time" I just got this polish a few days ago and I hadn't tried it yet. This polish looks to be a dupe of Spoiled "Ants In My Pants" but I think the red glitter is more dense in this one. I'll have to do a comparison ones of these days.

For the splatter  used L'Oreal "Caught Red-Handed"

I love splatters because no 2 nails are ever the same. I've been wanting to do this again since I did it last halloween (I think that's the last time I did it lol)

 Left Hand

 Right Hand

I guess I could have been a bit more creative but I've been having horrible migraines this whole weekend, so I'm glad I was able to do anything lol.

Well tomorrow is "Inspired By A Book" I'm not sure what book to choose, but I'm sure I'll figure it out while I'm at work tomorrow lol. Thanks for reading and make sure to check out the other ladies in the challenge below...

Follow Up and A Reader Request

So first up I wanted to share the follow up to my glitter mani using the Elmer's glue as a peel off base. Here is the removed polish...

They all came off in one piece except of of the pinky nails (the red glitter) I think it was mostly due to me not being totally sure how to approach the removal. I tried using a wooden cuticle stick, but it didn't work very well. So I just used my nails. I like to peel so I was itching to remove them all day :)

With this as the end result I plan on using the glue many times in the future. I'm so happy I can use my glitter a lot more now. I, like most ladies I'm sure, avoided glitter just because of the pain in the ass removal.

Next up is a comparison request from Beth. She wanted me to compare Butter London "Disco Biscuit" and Sinful Colors "Forget Now" So here it it....

 The 2 contenders.

Please excuse the messy application. I only applied the polish to show the two polishes. The 1st and 3rd nail is 3 coats of Butter London "Disco Biscuit" and the 2nd and 4th nail is Sinful Colors "Forget Now"

The polishes are pretty close, except "Disco Biscuit" has blue shimmer and dries semi matte.

"Forget Now" is all pink and pink shimmer, not really any blue within it. So they are very close in similarity but now total dupes. I think a big collector would want both, but someone who isn't picky would be happy with just "Forget Now"

Well that's it :) Keep checking back for the 30 Day Challenge and for my upcoming giveaway!

Day 9: Rainbow Nails

Today is rainbow nails. What I originally wanted to do, I felt was going to be done by most of the people in the challenge so I decided to just go simple. I also wanted to try out the Elmer's glue as a peel off base. These are the polishes I used, all of which are untrieds except the OPI base polish:

Orly "Rockets Red Glare", Jordana "Magenta Magic", Orly "Sashay My Way", Jordana "Blue Bash", Orly "Mermaid Tale", OPI "My Boyfriend Scales Walls"

After applying my glue base I used 2 coats of OPI "My Boyfriend Scales Walls"

On my pinkies I used 3 coats of Orly "Rockets Red Glare"

On my ring fingers I did 3 coats of Jordana "Magenta Magic"

My middle fingers got 3 coats of Orly "Sashay My Way"

The pointer fingers have 3 coats of Jordana "Blue Bash" I didn't realize that there was a colored base so it didn't really go along with the rest of the polishes, but I still think it fits in.

Lastly I applied 3 coats of Orly "Mermaid Tale" on my thumbs.

All of the polishes except "Blue Bash" would not be good with out a base. The other 4 are mainly top coats for other polishes. But they are all very pretty :)

Orly "Rockets Red Glare", Jordana "Magenta Magic", and Orly "Mermaid Tale" are all similar polishes but different colors lol.

I still think I like "Mermaid Tale" the most... but mainly because it's green :) hehe

Hopefully the polish actually peels off this time. Last time I made the mistake of using a base coat under the glue. I'll make sure to let you know tomorrow. Thanks for reading and make sure to check back tomorrow for my gradient nails that are actually the theme for the day and not just me falling back on my normal technique.

Don't forget to check out the other ladies rainbow nails below:
