Pink and Purple Gradient

I'm really loving gradients. There are so many color combinations it's almost endless. I tried a different technique this time then I usually do. What I've done before is dipping small pieces of a makeup sponge into the polish, but this time I painted the polish right on to the sponge and I really like the result a lot better then how I use to do it, so I think this will be the way I go from now on :)

I know that most people do a base coat using one of the colors in the gradient, but I like to be different so I use a different color lol
For my base coat I used 2 coats of essie "pink-a-boo" It's a very pretty polish, but the formula is kinda a pain to work with, well for me anyways.

It's hard to tell but there is a really pretty blue and pink shimmer in it.

For the actual gradient I used Orly "Oh Cabana Boy" and....

Cos Bar un-named purple. This is a new line they are carrying at Target. There is a total of 4 polishes, but none of them have a name :( Such a shame.

I really like how this came out but I felt like it was missing something.

So I added O.P.I. "Pirouette My Whistle" on my ring fingers....

But I don't think it was a good choice :( I'm not totally happy with it, oh well they can't all be winners lol

It's still very pretty to look at, I just wish I would have chosen a different glitter or had just left it be.

Well I'm sure there will be a lot more gradients in my future so this is a lesson learned :)

Thanks for reading and don't forget to enter my giveaway that ends this weekend.

Forget Not About Cinderella, I Lily Love You! - Day 12

Day 12 of the 90 Day Challenge

For Day 12 I am showing you not 1 but 2 manis that I did using Sinful Colors "Cinderella" which has become a big hit with a large number of polish fans like myself. "Cinderella" was recently added to the core line of polish by Sinful Colors. It is a pale blue, much like the dress Cinderella wore, with a subtle but beautiful hot pink glass fleck shimmer to it.

I started out with 2 coats of "Cinderella"

Look at that pretty pink shimmer :)
here you can see the shimmer on the nails and in the bottle
This one shows the shimmer in the bottle as well :)

I wanted to do something to accent the pink shimmer so I decided to use another new polish to the core line called "Forget Now" which is a nice bright pink with a little blue glass fleck shimmer, almost the opposite of "Cinderella" I used some striping tape and just painted the tips of my nails.

You can see the blue shimmer in "Forget Now" in this picture. I really like how it turned out. I think these two polishes really compliment each other very well.

Before I ended up with this mani I had tried layering O.P.I. "I Lily Love You" over "Cinderella" but I wasn't thrilled with the outcome, but I still love ILLY!
ILLY was a lemming of mine for awhile so I was really excited when I found a bottle at a nail supply shop I go to from time to time, and it was only $4!!! Now that's a great find :)

Well that's all for today. Please check back tomorrow for Day 13, and don't forget to check out the other girls participating in this challenge!!

Sunday Haul and a Bright Mani!!

When I held my first giveaway one of the ways to enter was you comment on what you would like to see on my blog. One of the common things mentioned was "Haul Posts" so here is my most recent one. I will be trying to post them more regularly. This is the haul I ended up with when I was out on Sunday :) Enjoy!!!

I stopped at the mall for a bit since I hadn't been there in awhile and one of the stores I made sure to go into was Icing!! I found 3 polishes on clearance and the other 2 were BOGO 1/2 so this is what I bought:
LtoR: Mr. Right Now, Lipstick and Lovers, Tiger's Blood, Rock Star From Mars, and Absinthe
"Lipstick and Lovers" looks kinda like Butter London "Disco Biscuit" I will have to do a comparison soon :)

My next stop was Target, where I picked up these pretties:
LtoR: O.P.I - Louvre Me Louvre Me Not, Revlon Colorstay - Bonsai, Pixi - Metallic Mermaid, and Essie - Pink-A-Boo
You can't tell in the picture but the Essie polish is packed with pink, purple, blue, and some more colors glass flecks. It is so pretty and I'm glad I picked it up to look at it otherwise I would have missed out on the beauty!

At Big Lots I found a 3 pack of Color Mates for $2!!! and I got two more Material Girl polishes at the mall
LtoR: Color Mates - Paparazzi, Glitter Glam, and Look At Me!, Material Girl - Phantom and Midnight

I love all of the polishes I picked up. The hardest part was deciding which one to wear first lol. I decided to pick 2 colors and I went with "Mr. Right Now" & "Absinthe" this is what I ended up with:
I used 2 coats of each color. and on top of "Absinthe" I did one coat of
Essie - "Carnival" for a little sparkle :)
and please forgive my pinkie nub :( I got it caught on my car door and it broke off. I tried to save it, but my nail just wasn't having it lol.

That's all for today. Thank you for reading and don't forget to follow me if you haven't already. Also don't forget to check out my blog sale :) I'm always adding stuff as I find it!!! Have a great day!

Multiple Hot Mess Mardi Gras Mani's

I really wanted to do something for Mardi Gras since I wasn't going to do anything else other then work. lol the ideas in my head looked great.... and on the nail they were a big ol' hot mess lol I did 3, and the last stayed on my nails only because I was to tired to try a fourth time... I used the same 3 basic colors for all three: O.P.I. - "DS Glow", Spoiled - "I'm So Jaded", Spoiled - "Pet My Peacock", and China Glaze - "Gothic Lolita" so here they are in all of their failed glory:

I was trying to do some sponging... but it didn't look good at all. The big chunky glitter doesn't really help lol

This was suppose to be a gradient I guess, but it just looks like some goofy candy corn. So another failure in my book.

I think if I hadn't added the black I would have been happier with this one. I decided to just leave it on since I was too tired to go for fail #4... I also used China Glaze - Golden Enchantment for this one.
So this was just a big disappointment, but I guess if you don't try you never know how it will turn out... so i will chalk it all up to a learning experience.

I decided to give my eyes a try instead this morning since I'm a bit better in that department lol. The pictures are the greatest but I did my best :)
From the inner corner out I used Venomous - "Green Mamba", Fyrinnae - :Lucky Charmed" and Tick:Tock - "Methusela" and for the highlighting I used Fyrinnae - "Moon Child"

And this is the girl behind the blog... Me!! lol

So Happy Mardi Gras and thanks for reading. If you have any questions or comments please do so below. I hope to have a giveaway soon so keep an eye out for that :)

My Monday Lunch Time Haul

So where I work I get a 2 hour lunch Mon, Wed, and Fri. Most times I just work through it, but on Monday I decided to just do some bumming around. I went to Sally's, Ulta, Walgreens, and CVS. This is what I ended up coming home with lol..... Hey I had 2 hours to kill :)

First I went to Walgreens to get a few Sinful Colors since the are on sale for $0.99 this week. So I picked out these pretties:
"Dream On" - Bright neon Purple
"Snow Me White" - Just a basic white, nothing special
"You Just Wait" - Pink with a duochrome of green. I think It will look awesome layered
"Daredevil" - Hot bright pink, with a bit of a blue hue to it

One thing I noticed is there is another color, "Bikini" that looks likes a dupe for "Daredevil" I held the bottles up to each other and they looked the exact same... So not sure what it going on with that, but I got "Daredevil" since I liked the name better lol. I'm looking for a good white polish so I figured I'd give SC a try. I also picked up "Just You Wait" and when I got home I realized I had already bought it awhile ago... oh well.

"Glass Pink" - A very sheer, sparkly pink
"Blue By You" - Bright blue with blue glass flecks
"Island Coral" - Light coral cream

I saw a swatch of "Island Coral" with "Just You Wait" layered over it... So pretty! To see it take a look at That's So Fresh's Blog

Also when I was at Walgreen's I saw they had the Nabi Magnetic nail polish display. This is the second Walgreen's I've seen them at. I snapped a photo of the display so you know what to look for:
The picture enlarges, so you can really see the colors. My phone takes really good photos lol... Anyway, I decided to pick up 2 more..
When I first posted about these polishes I was disappointed that they didn't have names... Well I realized that if you carefully peel the sticker off the bottom of the bottle, they do in fact, have a name and a number. Granted the name are boring, but at lease I have something to refer to them as lol. So I pick up "Purple" and "Dark Gold" I bet someone had a tough time coming up with those clever names lol.
I really liked the gold one because it looks like it has glitter in it... I can't wait to try it out.

Ok, So after Walgreen I went to CVS, I was still looking for a few more of the Spoiled polishes. I had a list of the ones I really wanted, I only have one more to go which is "Pet My Peacock" which I want mostly because of the name :) I did find 2 that I was looking for, 1 I just decided to try, and 1 I picked up and fell in love with:

"The Parking Meteor Expired" - I fell head over heels for this polish. I want to get a back up bottle. One the nail it looks almost black, but when you look closer you can see a blue tint to it (like in the picture) and there are glass fleck in blue, green, purple, and pink. Pictures could never capture the awesomeness of this polish. Just do you and you collection and go buy this NOW!!!!  :)
"Correction Tape" - Just another white I decided to try in my search for a good white polish
"Deeper Dive" - Teal with gold flakes, and I've heard it is a dupe for Zoya "Charla" which I don't have but you can find a good comparison on glamonthecheap's blog
"My Saturn Broke Down"

That was all for CVS... On to Ulta....
They had the new O.P.I. collection out so I grabbed the 2 I liked from seeing them on other blogs, and a random blue that caught my eye.
"Wooden Shoe Like To Know?" - light brown with a golden-copper shimmer
"Yoga-Ta Get This Blue" - A very pretty deep blue that I'm not sure how to describe
"Gouda Gouda Two Shoes" - Dirty rose pink with shimmer

Lastly I went to Sally's
China Glaze "Some Like It Haute" FingerPaints set included "Curator's Crimson" and "Vintage Violet" and a small bag, China Glaze "Blonde Bombshell"

Both of the China Glaze's are from the Eye Candy collection. I couldn't remember which ones I had but since they were on sale I didn't care lol. I already had "Blonde Bombshell" so it will go in my swap pile:)

OMG! The FingerPaint's were a great deal. 2 polishes and a small bag for only $3. I was lucky :)

Well there you have it. That's what I did during my lunch. I do have a swatch for the purple Nabi polish, and I will try to get it up by the end of the week.

Thanks for reading, and if you have any questions or comments please leave them below. Have a great night!! Oh and here is a cute pic I found. Koala's are my favorite animal :)
Probably how my fiance is going to be when he sees this post lol

My Sunday Haul

I don't do sports so I decided that while everyone was getting ready for the game that I would do some hunting. I'm glad I did. I killed 3 lemmings :)

Here's what I all got....

I went to a small nail supply shop that I found a few months ago. They usually have a lot of OPI and China Glaze and some Color Club,  Here is what I got from there...
(CG "Techno" was actually from Sally's I just put them all together for the picture)
"Sex On The Beach" and "Sea Spray" just peaked my interest when I saw them so I picked them up. "Awakening" was one of my lemmings. "Techno" is from the new Electropop  collection. This was the only one that interested me in the whole collection. Seeing them in person didn't change that either. :( Pity, CG is one of my favorite brands... I was disappointed in the new collection.. oh well.

2 more of my lemmings that I killed was O.P.I."My Private Jet" and "I Lily Love You." Sadly "MPJ" is the re-released version without the holo, but I still like it and I wanted both the original and re-release! Now I just need to find the original. I also picked up my very first Color Club polishes.

So Pretty!!!

I also stopped at Walgreens just to check it out and they had a big display of these magnetic polishes. I've been wanting to try out the magnetic trend, but just never came across them, so I decided to pick up a couple. They had so many colors it was hard to decide which to get so I just went with pretty basic colors for me. They don't have any names, but I made sure to get one of each of the 3 magnet types. I'm wearing the green one right now.
Just
Just by looking at the bottles the first con I can already is is the magnet itself. It's part of the can so you can't pull it off like some other brand, and it doesn't have the little lips on them like others have, but I was still willing to give them a try.

The Milani came from CVS and the others were from Wal-Mart. I've bee looking for the Red one-coat-glitter and I has happy to find it with the release of new glitters. The others just grabbed my attention so I got them :) No polish left behind lol

Pure Ice  and petites were also from Wal-mart. Not sire if the Pure Ice  colors are new, but I don't think I've seen them before. petites is a new one for me too.
These I snagged from Dollar Tree. Nothing special, but the glitters are sitting in polish for testing to see how they hold up.
I love the stars. For $1 you get 1 packet of pink holo glitter, 1 packet of silver holo glitter, 1 packet of black shiny stars, and 1 packet of white rhinestone. Not a bad deal. I bought 2 of them right away.

Well that's it. I'm pretty happy with my haul. What do you think. Do you have, or want any of these polishes? Are there any you would like to see swatches of? Please let me know and leave any other questions or comments below, and as always, Thank you for reading!
