Golden Gradient and Stamping!

Today I have a gradient I did on Sunday night. I'm really proud of how they came out. It was my first time using my Mash stamping plates and my first time using rhinestones :)

Here are the polishes I used:
L to R: Essence "What Do U Think?, Orly "Glitz", Misa "Sisterhood", Misa "Sweet Pleasure", and and unnamed Black/Silver Dollar Store Polish

The plate I used was Mash- 36. I used the Eye of Ra image.

I started out with 2 coats of  Essence "What Do U Think?":
"What Do U Think?" is a orange creme with a gold shimmer, which you can see better in the bottle in the pictures. It does show up on the nail. It is very pretty.

I then used Orly "Glitz" and Misa "Sisterhood" to create my gradient. I plan on making a tutorial for the gradient soon, so please keep an eye out for that :)
I was kinda going for a golden, desert-like gradient, Egyptian looking.

I think it turned out beautiful.

I wanted to add a little something more, so I did 1 coat of Misa "Sweet Pleasure"

I love the sparkle and how subtle it is.

Using my polish from the Dollar Store, which is like a black and silver swirled together and it has a really awesome color, unlike any other black I have. I stamped an eye on each nail and as an accent I added a red rhinestone to the center of the eye on my ring fingers.

The clean-up was a bit of a pain but totally worth it. I love this mani and I almost don't want to take it off, but I can't wait to play with my Mash plates some more. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I do wearing it.

Pink and Purple Gradient

I'm really loving gradients. There are so many color combinations it's almost endless. I tried a different technique this time then I usually do. What I've done before is dipping small pieces of a makeup sponge into the polish, but this time I painted the polish right on to the sponge and I really like the result a lot better then how I use to do it, so I think this will be the way I go from now on :)

I know that most people do a base coat using one of the colors in the gradient, but I like to be different so I use a different color lol
For my base coat I used 2 coats of essie "pink-a-boo" It's a very pretty polish, but the formula is kinda a pain to work with, well for me anyways.

It's hard to tell but there is a really pretty blue and pink shimmer in it.

For the actual gradient I used Orly "Oh Cabana Boy" and....

Cos Bar un-named purple. This is a new line they are carrying at Target. There is a total of 4 polishes, but none of them have a name :( Such a shame.

I really like how this came out but I felt like it was missing something.

So I added O.P.I. "Pirouette My Whistle" on my ring fingers....

But I don't think it was a good choice :( I'm not totally happy with it, oh well they can't all be winners lol

It's still very pretty to look at, I just wish I would have chosen a different glitter or had just left it be.

Well I'm sure there will be a lot more gradients in my future so this is a lesson learned :)

Thanks for reading and don't forget to enter my giveaway that ends this weekend.

Dark Shadows Polish - Day 38

Day 38 of the 90 Day Challenge
Yesterday I posted my latest haul and I had a reader request from MrsKittyKaBoom @ Trials & Tribulations of the Tinted Tankadin to see the new Orly polishes from the Dark Shadows Collection: "Mysterious Curse" and "Buried Alive" So here they are :)

First I will show you some swatches of "Mysterious Curse":
I couldn't decide which pictures to include so I included a bunch of them :) This color is so complex and no 1 or 2 pictures could correctly capture it.
I used 2 coats of MC on each nail.

"Mysterious Curse" is a velvety blueish purple (Blurple) It changes color depending on the angle and the light you look at it.
I really like this polish color.. but it is a nightmare formula wise. It was very thick and goopy. I'm not going to give up on it though. I am going to try and use some thinner and see if that helps.

Great bottle shot. It shows the blue and purple.

I wanted to include "Buried Alive" in this mani so I used my cool scissors :) These ones are a zig-zag design.

I cut a few strips of tape and applied them to my nails in about the center of each nail
I then used "Buried Alive" and applied 1 coat to the upper half of the nails.

"Buried Alive" is much better formula wise then MC. BA is a chocolaty golden brown. It almost glows. I love this polish so much and I have a feeling I will be using it a whole lot in the future.
As you can tell in the pictures that since MC was so thick when I applied the tape and pressed to make sure it was stuck to the nail it made a slight imprint in the nail in a kinda wavy pattern. But in person you can't really see those impressions.

So in my final opinion both of these polishes are beautiful colors and are a must have. If you get "Mysterious Curse" and it's thick, just use some thinner and hopefully that will help.

On Facebook I am in a group "Never Too Much Sparkle" and one of the awesome girls in the group Sarah decided to make a few different polishes named after some of the ladies in the group. I was lucky enough to have my name chosen, well my nickname anyways "Raeven" :) I was so honored. Today I just received a bottle of "Raeven" by Little Mouse Ears!!!!

"Raeven" is unlike any other polish I own and I'm so excited to have it named after me!!

Sarah has her store Little Mouse Ears where she sells makeup, nail polish, jewelery, solid perfumes, tarts, scrubs, and other stuff coming soon. You can check out the other polishes from this collection: NTMS Collection

Blue, Silver, and Fantasy Fire - Day 36

Day 36 of the 90 Day Challenge

I've been looking for manis that I can use Max Factor"Fantasy Fire" with. I started a mani and in the middle of it I decided to give it a go...

I started with 2 coats of Orly "Stone Cold"

It's such a pretty blue. The formula is great and it goes on easy peasy :)

My original intention was to just using striping tape and do 2 silver stripes, Essence "Icy Princess"... well after laying down the striping tape I decided to use some "Fantasy Fire" The result was I had 2 silver stripes, 2 "Stone Cold" stripes and the rest was "Fantasy Fire" over "Stone Cold"

I really like how it all turned up. I want to experiment with "Fantasy Fire" some more and see what else I can create :)

I leave you with a couple "Fantasy Fire" porn shots :)

Latest Haul! - Day 35

Day 35 of the 90 Day Challenge

I know that my polish collection is way big, but I have a hard time saying no to the pretty bottles. I go into stores to do some shopping and try to stay away from the polish but it hunts me down and finds me. It knocks me down and won't let me back up until I promise to take it home with me. What!? For real that's how it really happens, I Swear!!! lol ok that's how it feels some times :) Well this is what I've recently picked up.

L to R: Icing - "Forget You" " Almost Famous" "Call Me Glitzy" "Red-y Or Not Here I Am"

L to R: China Glaze - "Sexy In The City" "Grape Juice" "Riveting"

I love "Riveting" so I had to pick up a spare bottle while I could :) I realized later that I already had "Grape Juice" so not I have a spare bottle of that too lol

L to R: Nina's Ultra Pro - "Opal Elegance" "Molten Opal" "Like Butta" and "Unteal You"

L to R: FingerPaints - "Silkscreen Green" "Pop Art Purple" "Inkblot Blue" and "Late Night Rendezvous"

L to R: Zoya - "Charla" and "Ivanka" and Sally Hansen - "Teeny Greeny Bikini" and "Pumpkin Spice"
I bought the Sally Hansen at the Dollar Store for $1.00 for a 2-pack.

L to R: Orly - "Buried Alive" "Mysterious Curse" "After Party"

"Buried Alive" and "Mysterious Curse" are from the Dark Shadows Collection. I'm very excited for the movie and these polishes are beautiful. The other 2 in the collection were a red and white cream and I found nothing interesting in those 2.

I haven't used any of these yet but I can't wait to, so look for some manis using these. Let me know if there are any you are really wanting to see!
