Anti-Valentines Mani

So, I'm not really one for Valentines Day. I've never really had a good one, and I just try to forget about it. I know I'm horrible lol. And the sad part is, I'm even single and I still don't like it. Oh well. Here is my Anti-Valentines manicure.

I started out with 3 coats of O.P.I. "My Vampire Is Buff" I really wanted to like this polish, but the formula wasn't that great and it took 3 coats to get it some what even. I was hoping it would be a lot better then it was. Oh well moving forward.

For the stamping I used Sinful Colors "Truth Or Dare" and Pure Ice "Black Rage"

For the stamping images I used one of my new XXL Shany plates, That I just love!!!
I used XXL plate #2

All of the images except the solid heart are in these rows.

All in all I like how it turned out and I love these new plates, so I think I'm going to be doing a lot more stamping.

I finally took pics for the tutorial on my nail polish racks and I hope to have it up before the weekend.

Well that's all for today. Thanks for reading and I hope you have a good v-day even if I don't lol

Lush Lacquer - Pink Panther

I recently was the lucky winner of an awesome giveaway held by Polish Fixation and Nails Adored. The prize was 6 Indie polishes!!! Now I own 7 Indies lol. There were 8 total prize packs and I was lucky enough to win, and even luckier that I got the prize I really wanted!

The one I am going to show you today is the one I fell in love with in the picture, Lush Lacquer "Pink Panther" It is a beautiful polish that consists of various sizes and shaped black, white, and pink glitter. It reminds me a lot of Ninja Polish "Sticks n' Stones" (which was the only Indie I owned until now) but it includes pink.

For the base polish I used 2 coats of L'Oreal "The Mystic's Future"

This is a really nice purple, and the formula was wonderful. It almost seems to glow from with in.

I own quite a few purple polishes, but I'm not sure if I have anything similar to this. I will have to take a look and see, but I don't think I do.

Next I applied 1 coat of Lush Lacquer "Pink Panther", yes you read that right only 1 coat. I fell so in love with this polish once it hit my nail. There was not any fishing needed. I didn't have to dab it on and it wasn't a topcoat eater. It went on nice and smooth and evenly. I couldn't have asked for anything better.

I find it funny that the large white hex glitter ended up at almost the same spot on two different nails, I swear it just happened that way.

I just love this combo and I think it helps to show off all 3 colors in "Pink Panther"

And since I can never leave well enough alone I added 2 coats of Pure Ice "Oh Baby!" which is a sheer base with blue shimmer. I think it added just a little something without over doing it or covering up "PP" (hehe pp... I'm such a kid sometime)

 Look at all that awesomeness!!!

You can really see the blue shimmer here.

I really love this polish and I think I may be picking up a few polishes for Lush Lacquer when I have some extra cash. If all of the polishes are as awesome as this one I will be one happy girl.

You can find this awesome polish here: Pink Panther I think everyone should own a bottle!

Thank you for reading and if you haven't done so already, don't forget to enter my giveaways. They can be found on the right-hand side bar at the top of the page.

Refreshing My Mani!

So this is a picture of the mani I wore yesterday:
Just a reminder :)
Butter London "Scuppered" and China Glaze "Angel Wings" as the accent nail

I went a step further and using some striping tape I created this:

I really look how it all turned out. A few nails got smudged from applying top coat a bit early, but I was too tired to redo it, but that's how you learn :) I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen Salon Manicure "Lavender Cloud" and over "Angel Wings" I used Pure Ice "Black Rage"

I really like how this turned out and I've gotten a few compliments on it, and about 3 of them were from guys lol. I guess it is something I will have to do again in the future. I think if a mani catches a man's eye then it must be good... and it caught at least 3 guy's eyes lol.

Well that is it for today. Thanks for reading and don't forget to enter my giveaway. I've had such a great response to this giveaway that I decided once I reach 400 followers (only 22 away as of this post) I will be holding another giveaway even if my current one is not over yet, so keep an eye out for that!

Also if you haven't checked it out I've recently updated my blog sale!!

Day 24: Inspired By A Book

This was another tough one for me. I couldn't decide on a book. Some of my favorites I just couldn't figure out how to make them translate to the nail. I ended up choosing this book mainly because the cover and theme gave me something that I could work with :)

So with that said, the book I took my inspiration from is:"The Eye Of Horus" by Carol Thurston
Anyone that knows me, knows I look all things Ancient Egyptian.  I even have a few Egyptian based tattoos. but anyways on to the nails :)

I wasn't totally sure what I was going to do from the beginning. I kinda just grabbed a bunch of colors that I thought would work well with what I had in my head. Pretty much I was just winging it lol I started with my glue base and after that dried I applied 3 coats of Pure Ice "Bite Me!" I love the name of the polish and the actually polish is pretty good too

Since I had no sense of where I was going I decided to let the polishes led me on my way to a finished product.

( As I write omrhing it soing ok, e caff) <---- I was falling asleep when I started this post lol. No clue what that is suppose to mean. Anyways, I added a coat of Sally Hansen "Gilded Lily' which is pretty much just a gold glitter. But it's not an over powering glitter.

So here is a picture of all the polishes I used.
Pure Ice "Bite Me", Essence "Date With The Night", Sally Hansen "Gilded Lily", Milani "3D", OPI  "Alpine Snow" - Which was used for the stamping, and the white nail art pen I used for my hieroglyphs.
So after I used 3 coats of "Bite Me!" and 1 coat of "Gilded Lily" I used "Date With The Night" and used the saran wrap technique. I wanted to make a kinda old gold ancient look. After the saran wrap I felt it was a bit too dark so I added another coat of "Gilded Lily" and saran wrapped on some "3D" for a little depth. I was finally happy with what I had so Then I added some freehand hieroglyphs, and a couple stamped images.

Left Hand

Right Hand

I've been wanted to use the ankh image for a while so I knew it would be perfect for this mani and I needed the eye of Horus :) Using the nail are pen, I took some of the hieroglyphs from the cover of the book and tried to recreate them on my nails. Some were easier than others.

All in all I am happy with how this turned out. Cleanup could have been better but I was getting tired and I need to get the pictures up. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. The book is great by the way, and I think I'm going to start re-reading it :) Day 25 is "Inspired By Fashion" and I don't really follow fashion so this is going to be another pain in the butt I think, but we will see. Thanks for reading and make sure to check out the other ladies below :)

My Sunday Haul

I don't do sports so I decided that while everyone was getting ready for the game that I would do some hunting. I'm glad I did. I killed 3 lemmings :)

Here's what I all got....

I went to a small nail supply shop that I found a few months ago. They usually have a lot of OPI and China Glaze and some Color Club,  Here is what I got from there...
(CG "Techno" was actually from Sally's I just put them all together for the picture)
"Sex On The Beach" and "Sea Spray" just peaked my interest when I saw them so I picked them up. "Awakening" was one of my lemmings. "Techno" is from the new Electropop  collection. This was the only one that interested me in the whole collection. Seeing them in person didn't change that either. :( Pity, CG is one of my favorite brands... I was disappointed in the new collection.. oh well.

2 more of my lemmings that I killed was O.P.I."My Private Jet" and "I Lily Love You." Sadly "MPJ" is the re-released version without the holo, but I still like it and I wanted both the original and re-release! Now I just need to find the original. I also picked up my very first Color Club polishes.

So Pretty!!!

I also stopped at Walgreens just to check it out and they had a big display of these magnetic polishes. I've been wanting to try out the magnetic trend, but just never came across them, so I decided to pick up a couple. They had so many colors it was hard to decide which to get so I just went with pretty basic colors for me. They don't have any names, but I made sure to get one of each of the 3 magnet types. I'm wearing the green one right now.
Just
Just by looking at the bottles the first con I can already is is the magnet itself. It's part of the can so you can't pull it off like some other brand, and it doesn't have the little lips on them like others have, but I was still willing to give them a try.

The Milani came from CVS and the others were from Wal-Mart. I've bee looking for the Red one-coat-glitter and I has happy to find it with the release of new glitters. The others just grabbed my attention so I got them :) No polish left behind lol

Pure Ice  and petites were also from Wal-mart. Not sire if the Pure Ice  colors are new, but I don't think I've seen them before. petites is a new one for me too.
These I snagged from Dollar Tree. Nothing special, but the glitters are sitting in polish for testing to see how they hold up.
I love the stars. For $1 you get 1 packet of pink holo glitter, 1 packet of silver holo glitter, 1 packet of black shiny stars, and 1 packet of white rhinestone. Not a bad deal. I bought 2 of them right away.

Well that's it. I'm pretty happy with my haul. What do you think. Do you have, or want any of these polishes? Are there any you would like to see swatches of? Please let me know and leave any other questions or comments below, and as always, Thank you for reading!

Snow Ball's Chance in Hell!!

Hehe, that's just a fun phrase.

Well first I want to say I got the nice surprise of become Tick:Tock Cosmetics Fan of the Week!!! I got a store credit for it and since I was already planning to order I decided to just get the sampler set of all 32 colors :) I'm so excited I can't wait!!!

Ok, today I have a mani and a comparison for you. The comparison was a request from a reader - findaghost :) She saw my post about the Spoiled polishes I picked up from CVS that included "Shaken Snow Globe" that looks a lot like China Glaze "Snow Globe"

Here are the two going up for comparison:
Please excuse the messy application:
CG "Snow Globe" is on the fingers 1 and 3; Spoiled "Shaken Snow Globe" on fingers 2 and 4

So as you can see they are similar, but not dupes. China Glaze is bigger "chucks" then Spoiled. So sadly no dupe here.

And here is my mani :)  I figured I'd do something "coldish" since we just got our first big snow here in Wisconsin. This came out real close to what I saw in my mind :) Here are the polishes that I used in order of application:

Nicole "It's All About The Glam", Pure Ice "Oh Baby!", Finger Paints "Add & Abstract",
Pure Ice "Strapless", and Spoiled "I Have No Reception"

I first used a clear base coat. I really should have used underwear because Nicole "It's All About The Glam" is very sheer and I needed 3 coats. I thought it was a good base since it is a white with a very pretty subtle shimmer. I used a coat of  SV before I did 2 coats of Pure Ice "Oh Baby!" to give the mani a nice blue shimmer. Another coat of SV. With , Finger Paints "Add & Abstract" I used a piece of a makeup sponge to sponge it on about 1/2 of each nail. To finish up the look I did one coat of
Pure Ice "Strapless" over the blue and one coat of Spoiled "I Have No Reception" over that, and to finish up I did another coat of SV.
So I ended up with a total of 13 coats!!! lol Ended up a bit on the thick side, but I love it.

I went to Sally's yesterday and the girl that was at the register though they were fake and she was really surprised to find out that they were my real nails and that I did them myself :)

So what do you think? Please leave any questions or comments you may have below and as always Thanks for reading :)
