Currently...

This will be a short post. I just wanted to show off my new haircut. I decided spur of the moment yesterday that I was going to go get it chopped. Not sure why, but I guess everyone needs a change now and then.

My hair use to be a bit shorter then mid-back length ... I will look later to see if I have any recent pictures of me before the cut (I'm not home right now lol)

I didn't have anything in mind really so I left it up to my stylist since she always does a good job.... Here is the final result!
Also the other day I decided to wear butter London's "Dosh"... I don't really care for it. I tried to spruce it up and make it more appealing to myself. I like the out come, but I don't think I'll be keeping "Dosh" All I could think of every time I looked at my nails was.... Zombies! That's not a bad thing, but not really what I want my nail to remind me of lol.

Over "Dosh" I added a coat of Sinful Colors "Green Ocean" and OTD Norther Lights. I think it is so pretty, but I don't think this is worth keeping "Dosh" anyone want to swap for it lol

That's it for today. Thanks for reading and don't forget to enter my 100 Follower Giveaway!!!

My Monday Lunch Time Haul

So where I work I get a 2 hour lunch Mon, Wed, and Fri. Most times I just work through it, but on Monday I decided to just do some bumming around. I went to Sally's, Ulta, Walgreens, and CVS. This is what I ended up coming home with lol..... Hey I had 2 hours to kill :)

First I went to Walgreens to get a few Sinful Colors since the are on sale for $0.99 this week. So I picked out these pretties:
"Dream On" - Bright neon Purple
"Snow Me White" - Just a basic white, nothing special
"You Just Wait" - Pink with a duochrome of green. I think It will look awesome layered
"Daredevil" - Hot bright pink, with a bit of a blue hue to it

One thing I noticed is there is another color, "Bikini" that looks likes a dupe for "Daredevil" I held the bottles up to each other and they looked the exact same... So not sure what it going on with that, but I got "Daredevil" since I liked the name better lol. I'm looking for a good white polish so I figured I'd give SC a try. I also picked up "Just You Wait" and when I got home I realized I had already bought it awhile ago... oh well.

"Glass Pink" - A very sheer, sparkly pink
"Blue By You" - Bright blue with blue glass flecks
"Island Coral" - Light coral cream

I saw a swatch of "Island Coral" with "Just You Wait" layered over it... So pretty! To see it take a look at That's So Fresh's Blog

Also when I was at Walgreen's I saw they had the Nabi Magnetic nail polish display. This is the second Walgreen's I've seen them at. I snapped a photo of the display so you know what to look for:
The picture enlarges, so you can really see the colors. My phone takes really good photos lol... Anyway, I decided to pick up 2 more..
When I first posted about these polishes I was disappointed that they didn't have names... Well I realized that if you carefully peel the sticker off the bottom of the bottle, they do in fact, have a name and a number. Granted the name are boring, but at lease I have something to refer to them as lol. So I pick up "Purple" and "Dark Gold" I bet someone had a tough time coming up with those clever names lol.
I really liked the gold one because it looks like it has glitter in it... I can't wait to try it out.

Ok, So after Walgreen I went to CVS, I was still looking for a few more of the Spoiled polishes. I had a list of the ones I really wanted, I only have one more to go which is "Pet My Peacock" which I want mostly because of the name :) I did find 2 that I was looking for, 1 I just decided to try, and 1 I picked up and fell in love with:

"The Parking Meteor Expired" - I fell head over heels for this polish. I want to get a back up bottle. One the nail it looks almost black, but when you look closer you can see a blue tint to it (like in the picture) and there are glass fleck in blue, green, purple, and pink. Pictures could never capture the awesomeness of this polish. Just do you and you collection and go buy this NOW!!!!  :)
"Correction Tape" - Just another white I decided to try in my search for a good white polish
"Deeper Dive" - Teal with gold flakes, and I've heard it is a dupe for Zoya "Charla" which I don't have but you can find a good comparison on glamonthecheap's blog
"My Saturn Broke Down"

That was all for CVS... On to Ulta....
They had the new O.P.I. collection out so I grabbed the 2 I liked from seeing them on other blogs, and a random blue that caught my eye.
"Wooden Shoe Like To Know?" - light brown with a golden-copper shimmer
"Yoga-Ta Get This Blue" - A very pretty deep blue that I'm not sure how to describe
"Gouda Gouda Two Shoes" - Dirty rose pink with shimmer

Lastly I went to Sally's
China Glaze "Some Like It Haute" FingerPaints set included "Curator's Crimson" and "Vintage Violet" and a small bag, China Glaze "Blonde Bombshell"

Both of the China Glaze's are from the Eye Candy collection. I couldn't remember which ones I had but since they were on sale I didn't care lol. I already had "Blonde Bombshell" so it will go in my swap pile:)

OMG! The FingerPaint's were a great deal. 2 polishes and a small bag for only $3. I was lucky :)

Well there you have it. That's what I did during my lunch. I do have a swatch for the purple Nabi polish, and I will try to get it up by the end of the week.

Thanks for reading, and if you have any questions or comments please leave them below. Have a great night!! Oh and here is a cute pic I found. Koala's are my favorite animal :)
Probably how my fiance is going to be when he sees this post lol

Sunset Mani...

Last Saturday I was out driving around and I just happed to look at the sky as the sun was going down. It was so pretty. The nice blue sky with fluffy litte clouds that were tinted red from the sun. As I looked at the sky I said to myself: "Raeven... You need to make your nail look like the sky." I thought I had a pretty good idea, so when I got home I pulled out a nail wheel to play with some colors to see if I could find a combination of colors to give me the effect I was looking for....

This is what I ended up with...

I think it turned out pretty good. I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors "Rise and Shine" the blue was a little brighter then I wanted but when I added 2 coats of Maybelline Colorama "Ruby Rays" it muted the blue out a little and made it the perfect shade for me. After that I felt that it still needed a little something so I added a coat of OTD Northern Lights... PERFECT!!!! I loved how it turned out so much that I kept it on for 3 days.. normally I change every other day if not every day... It turned out better then I though it would and IMO it looked even better in person. Flakies are so hard to capture on camera :/

I recieved "Ruby Rays" from a swap I did with Nail Xchange it was a surprise she threw in and I was so excited about it since I don't really have a lot of flakies :)

What do you think? Have you used either of these polishes before.

Thanks for reading and as always please leave any comments or questions below!!!

Blood Splatter!!!!

Warning: Picture Heavy!!!

I've been seeing many posts about people doing blood splatter nails. I was very excited to try it myself. It made me think of my favorite show.... Dexter :)

So it's pretty easy to do once you know how to do it.

You just put down a base color of your choice. Here are the colors I used:
I used L.A. Colors "Energy Source" and did 3 coats. It's not the best white because it is so sheer and  very streaky :( but it was the only white I had, but I have since bought a new one :)

On top of that I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors "Easy Going" to give it a little bit of a sparkle.

To do the splatter you pour a little of the red, I used L.A. Colors "Hot Blooded" out and dip a straw in it and blow through it to create the splatter :) I put tape around my fingers so the clean up would be easier. What you see in the pictures is the remining clean up needed. So here are pictures of what I ended up with... I really like it!! The red ended up being kind of pinkish so next time I will have to use a darker red next time.

I hope you enjoyed. Please leave any comments or questions you may have. Thanks for reading and don't forget to follow me :)

Mom's pick

Once again I had no idea what colors to use on my nails so I asked my mom :) She suggested I do something holloween-ish, so she chose brown and orange. As I was looking for polishes I realised I have barely any browns or oranges. So I had to use what I had, but I also made a mental note to keep an eye out for more oranges and browns.
Sinful Colors "Nirvana", WNW "Sunny Side Up", and Sinful Colors "Cloud 9"
I ended up using 2 coats of Sinful Colors "Nirvana" for the base,

2 coats of WNW "Sunny Side Up" for the tips and then I topped it all off with 1 coat of Sinful Colors "Cloud 9".

"Cloud 9" is a very sheer color, but it is sooooo pretty. I tried to capture the sparkle this color has. I used a thin coat to give my nails a little bit of a sparkle to them. The brown just didn't look right until I put this color on. Very glad I did.

My original idea was to try and do some sponging......... it turned out horrible... twice!!! lol so those pictures have been destroyed to leave to evidence of the epic fail they were lol. After that I decided to just go a bit simpler so I went to my old faithful mani :) I didn't realise how sheer "Cloud 9" was until I did this mani. I like the overall look that was my end result.

Like most of my mani's I wore this for 2 days. My next post shows a dupe I found for a polish I've really been wanting... but you will have to wait.. Thanks for reading and don't forget to follow my blog! Please leave any questions or comments you have below.

A Night of Fails.... and a Franken

So the other night I was trying to do a mani..... I had an image in my head and it just didn't turn out the way I had hoped. I started off with two coats of Sinful Colors "Mercury Rising"

As always please ignore my mess lol. I normally clean up after everything is dry and I take my pictures right away so I don't forget to take them... I'm weird I guess but anyways :) back to the nail stuff. "Mercury Rising" is a very pretty deep brownish red with a shimmer to it. I really like the color which is funny because I bought it on accident. I was buying polish for a swap and I grabbed the wrong color but decided to keep it anyways :) I'm sure I will be using it again in the near future.

I wanted to do a tape mani, but the universe was againist it I guess because it turned out horrible lol
This is 2 coats of "Energy Source" by L.A. Colors. I guess the tape wasn't all the way on the nail :( and it got underneath. I figured it was already a fail the I would try using one of my Nail Art Deco's "Silver Glitter" (Real original name btw lol)

Well since that didn't work out at all I decided to try making a franken :) I really like it, I just don't know what to call it. If you have any suggestions please lease them in a comment! I started with a bottle os clear polish by NYC, I then added some pigment that was brown with a green undertone :) I really like how it turned out.
This is 2 coats
So I still need a name for it. Let me know what you think and any name suggestions you may have: Thanks for reading.

It's so pretty :),

Last Minute polish change...

So last night I decided to change my polish again. It didn't work out the way I planned but I was able to improvise :)

I was going to use Confetti "My Favorite Martian" as the base but it just wasn't dark enough for me, so I decided to use underwear :) (a nice term I picked up from a friends blog) so I used Sinful Colors "Happy Endings"

"Happy Endings" is a pretty light green with a nice shimmer in it. I almost didn't want to layer over it lol After 2 coats of "Happy Endings" I went over it with 1 coat of Confetti "My Favorite Martian"
"My Favorite Martian" is a nice green, the picture doesn't show it but there is a little bit of glitter in it :) So I wanted to try doing a tape mani on a diaginal.... Sadly when I added the second color L.A. Colors "Force" and removed the tape it pulled up some of the green :( so I improvised.... I used some of the glitter from when I did my shoes.

This is the end result. I didn't clean up because I was on my way to bed... and it was about midnight lol
I took a new picture today after eveything was all cleaned up :)

I hope you like it. Please leave any comments or questions you may have :) have a great night. I'm about to meet a friend for a couple drinks!!!
