Day 15: Delicate Print

So today is delicate print nails.... I didn't have any ideas except for nail stamping. I really liked the look of the image on the stamping plate.... but I can never get the whole image to transfer onto the entire nail of my longer nails.... But I think if you ignore that, it looks cute :)

I started out with 2 coats of  L'Oreal "Walk On The Beach" which is a nude color. I don't think there is really anything special about it, it was my untried polish, but the application was great. It will probably go in my underwear drawer.... Not my actually underwear drawer... my nail polish underwear drawer :)

I added 1 coat of Nubar "2010" which is your basic flakie polish. I just wanted to add a little something.

For the stamping I used Sally Hansen "Frutti Petutie", which is also an untried.

As you can see on my ring and pinky finger that the stamp wasn't large enough to cover the entire nail, plus it didn't transfer on some parts. I guess practice makes perfect.

Well there you have it. Those are my delicate print nails. Tomorrow is tribal print, and I have no clue what to do for that :( Google search and Pintrest here I come. So check back tomorrow to see how that turns out.

Thanks for reading and make sure to check out the other delicate nails from the ladies below.

KleanColor and FingerPaints

I wanted to use another one of the FingerPaints special effects because, well.... who doesn't like a good flakie? :)

I decided to use "Flecked" since I love green. I figured a nice purple would be good for a base since they are complementary colors. I had gotten a really pretty KleanColor purple this past weekend and was glad to be able to use it so soon :) It's called "IT Purple" here are some pics...

It's really hard to describe this color. It's a very vibrate almost blacken purple. It's gorgeous!!! The application was great and smooth. I used 2 coats.
"Flecked" is beautiful in it's own right. I think the two go together great. I'm really happy with the results. I also used two coats so there would be more flakie coverage :) Here's some photo spam!!

What other colors would you like to see this over. I'm always looking for some suggestions :) As always thanks for reading and please leave any comments or questions below.

Fingerpaints & Zoya

So I saw a few posts about the new FingerPaints collection that is due out next month. You can see Polish Insomniac's post here: Coming Soon All Flakie Collection from FingerPaints

She has bottle shots of all 5 colors. Granted they don't look like much in the bottle, most flakies don't. But don't let that deceive you :)

I also saw a post by Siobhan at The Nailphile where she said she found them early at a Sally's and posted swatches of all 5 here

Well today I stopped in at one of my local Sally's and asked if they had them yet... The sales girl said "Yes, we just got them, let me make sure we can sell them..." About 1 minute later she came walking out with the display :) :) :) Oh happy day!!! I wanted to do a little happy dance... but I didn't want her to think I was "special" lol So I just told her I'd take one of each color and made my way to the register. I had a coupon for $5 off of $25 so I grabbed a $0.99 eyeshadow since I was short about 5 cents lol. So I pretty much bought 4 and got one free.... (and an eyeshadow lol) I was happy my whole way home :)

So I decided to show you my very first Zoya polish and one of the new FP polishes :)

Here is my very first Zoya Polish "Edyta":

I LOVE this polish. I almost didn't want to layer over it. It is a gorgeous golden olive green/brown to gunmetal/black shift. It is such a pretty color and I love love love it. I will be picking up a few more Zoya polishes if they are as pretty as "Edyta"!!! Weird name but awesome color :)

This is two coats of "Edyta" I decided to try out FingerPaints "Twisted" first since it has so many colors in it :) Here's some spam, I really wish I had a better lens on my camera to do both of these some justice.... oh well, hopefully soon...
Not sure where that hair (most likely from one of my fur babies) on my index finger came from. I didn't see it when I was taking the picture... sorry :(

A blurry pic to be able to see all the different color a little better

"Twisted" is so awesome. There are so many colors in this flakie is is beyond awesome....

What do you think? Do you plan on getting an of these polishes? Please leave any questions of comments below and as always, Thanks for reading :)

Sunset Mani...

Last Saturday I was out driving around and I just happed to look at the sky as the sun was going down. It was so pretty. The nice blue sky with fluffy litte clouds that were tinted red from the sun. As I looked at the sky I said to myself: "Raeven... You need to make your nail look like the sky." I thought I had a pretty good idea, so when I got home I pulled out a nail wheel to play with some colors to see if I could find a combination of colors to give me the effect I was looking for....

This is what I ended up with...

I think it turned out pretty good. I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors "Rise and Shine" the blue was a little brighter then I wanted but when I added 2 coats of Maybelline Colorama "Ruby Rays" it muted the blue out a little and made it the perfect shade for me. After that I felt that it still needed a little something so I added a coat of OTD Northern Lights... PERFECT!!!! I loved how it turned out so much that I kept it on for 3 days.. normally I change every other day if not every day... It turned out better then I though it would and IMO it looked even better in person. Flakies are so hard to capture on camera :/

I recieved "Ruby Rays" from a swap I did with Nail Xchange it was a surprise she threw in and I was so excited about it since I don't really have a lot of flakies :)

What do you think? Have you used either of these polishes before.

Thanks for reading and as always please leave any comments or questions below!!!

Essie Luxeffects.... Flakies!!!!

So I've seen a few posts about Essie's new Luxeffects collection which is all topcoats. I got excited when I saw some of the swatches. You can check them out for yourself... Here are a few:

Chalkboard Nails - Essie Gold As It Gets
The Polishhaholic - Essie Holiday 2011 Luxeffects
Gotham Polish - Essie Shine of the Times

 *drool*
I knew I wanted "Shine of the Times" and "As Gold as it Gets" for sure. Now something you may not know about me... When I get a lemming, I become crazy obsessed with finding it and getting it. So as you can imagine I was going everywhere that I knew carried Essie polishes. I read on another blog that she found them at Ulta the other day, so that's where I went during my lunch break today :)

I was so happy to find that they had the whole collection. I decided to just get the two that I really wanted. So I grabbed one each of "Shine of the Times" and "As Gold as it Gets"... I walked away and was doing some browsing and decided to go back and snatch up the other SotT they had... hehehe yes I'm a greedy hoarder lol. But at least I am happy!!

Essie - Shine of the Times, As Gold as it Gets, Shine of the Times

I couldn't wait to use SotT so I decided to layer it over the polish I already had on, while in the Ulta parking lot lol, which is "Under Your Spell" from Wet n' Wild, a very pretty blackened red. With SotT over it, it really made me think of autumn leaves. So pretty, it was distracting me while I drove back to work, and even now while typing this post. Here are a few pics, sorry that they are so crummy, I took them with my phone so I could post them now, otherwise I'd have to wait til tomorrow since my internet is down :(

It looks a lot like Nubar "2010" But I think SotT is a bit denser with the flakies... maybe I will do a comparison... and if you are wondering what is on my index finger it is Nicole - "Make a Comet-ment" which looks a lot like China Glaze "Fairy Dust" IMO, but I think Nicole is a bit denser with the glitter :)

Well that's it for now. Please leave any questions or comments below. Are you planing on getting any of these polishes? Thanks for reading!!! :)

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Collection for under $20!!!!

So I was lucky to find a place to buy all 9 of the Kleancolor Chunky Holos for a really good price. I know a lot of people don't like ebay, but I found a seller that sells all 9 of the Holos and a bottle of "Madly Matte" for only $19 and free shipping!!! How awesome if that? You'll find the link to the sellers store and some exciting news at the end of this post :)

I just got my polishes in the mail yesterday and I was so excited. I was able to remember to take a pic of the package before I ripped into them lol.
Each bottle was wrapped individually and then they were all wrapped in bubble wrap together. Look at the hidden pretties :) Sorry for the somewhat blurry pics, my using an old lens on my camera until I can get a better one since my other one broke :( Here they are unwrapped:

Chunky Holo: Scarlet, Teal, Purple, Clover, and Candy
Chunky Holo: Black, Poppy, Fushia, Bluebell and Madly Matte

I swatched all of them on a color wheel right away alone and over black. Over black they all look the same except for "Scarlet," "Candy," and "Black" but you will see that when I get to those reviews :)
For the first review we have is "Teal"

A quick note about these polishes. I have noticed a slight odor with them but it's nothing over powering, but it is worth noting. I still love these polishes though :)

Here is the inital swatch I did and again sorry for the crappy pictures...
I like that there is a color to the base so it is still nice to wear alone. I decided to add a base coat though so I'd get full opacity. I used a Sally Girl polish, it doesn't have a name.. but there is a number I think I'd have to look. Anyways here is the base, I did 2 coats.
This polish does have a pretty blue to green shift but I just couldn't catch it with my crappy lens :( oh well. And here it is covered with 2 coats of "Chunky Holo Teal"
It was so hard to try and capture the prettiness of this polish.
At this angle you can see all the flakes in the polish. They mainly ranged from yellow, orange, and green. I've never done a matte nail so I figured I'd try it since I got a bottle with this set.

With the matte topcoat the flakies were a little easier to see, but I just wasn't feeling the matte look, I guess I just expect nails to be shiny and pretty lol. Well here are some more pics for you :)

So all in all I really like this polish. It's pretty and a bit on the subtle side. It went on great even though it is a bit on the thicker side but that didn't bother me at all. I did have an issue after I put the topcoat on but I think it was from the top coat it's self. I used "Out The Door" fast dry top coat and I had issues with the polish moving on my nails. Hard to describe but yeh I think I'll stick with my SV.

So do you want to get these pretty polishes all for yourself? here is the link to the ebay store: Beauty Couture They have 236 colors of Kleancolor polish and cosmetics along with a few other brands like Santeen, Cherimoya and the 2012 crackles, also NYX cosmetics, L.A Colors cosmetics and polishes, Nabi polish and cosmetics. For example you can get 80 Kleancolor polishes of your choice for $94.59 with free shipping!!! Now that's a great deal!

I've made an agreement with the seller that for every 10 people that order from them from my blog I will receive some polishes and I plan on using some of them for giveaways!!! I'm not sure if I should just do it for the people that ordered or for all of my followers, what do you think? When you order just make sure to use the code "peacock" They prices are great and cheaper then most other online stores. Please go check it out.

Again the ebay store is Beauty Couture and make sure to use the code "peacock"

Keep checking back for the reviews to the rest of the colors and updates for my giveaways. Please spread the word. The more people that order the more giveaways I will be able to have :) If you have any questions or comments please leave them below and thanks for reading!!
