I've been a bad blogger :(

I've been having a bad week. Some personal issues so I won't bore you with the details. On to the pretties :)

So I did my first swap a little bit ago with Nail Xchange. The main reason for the swap was my lemming for China Glaze "It's Alive" from last years Halloween collection. It's so pretty!!!

This is 2 coats with SV topcoat. Pictures do not do this polish justice. I love it so much, and I'm so happy that I was able to get it. I've heard that this is a dupe for Orly's "It's Not Rocket Science" but I don't own it so I can't do my own comparison :( oh well...

I promise to start posting better and more regularly :) I hope you will keep reading. Please leave any questions or comments. Thanks for reading!!!

More KleanColor Chunky Holo!!!

First off, I am really sorry about not posting sooner. I was going to the other day but we are having issues with our Internet service so the only place I can post from is my work. So without more talk here are some more of the Kleancolor Chunky Holo collection :) Enjoy!!!

First up is "Clover":

This is a very pretty green and I just loved it in the bottle. I swatched it above alone and over black. Just about all of the Chunky Holo's look the same over black. Since "Clover" is so sheer I decided to use underwear with this polish.
I used 2 coats of Jordana "Good Luck Charm" I felt like this was close to the color of clover and would work great with it.

This is 2 coats of "Clover" over "Good Luck Charm."I love the sparkle. I love green too, so this was a win for me.

Next is "Scarlet":

As you can see in this swatch that the "Scarlet," when layer over black becomes reddish too. I like the effect, but for this post I didn't layer.

This is a very deep red. I didn't need underwear at all and with 2 coats I had full opacity. The red is definitely one of my favorites from this collection. I love the sparkle and how it isn't over powering at all. With my crappy lens on my camera right now it is had to get picture on the flakies in the polish.

The last color for today is "Candy":

This is another holo that looks a bit different over black. It gives the black sort of a murky brown color. Not so sure how I feel about that lol. This is a pretty bright pink, but it's not neon.

Like "Scarlet" I did not need underwear for this polish. I hit full opacity in 2 coats. I think out of all of the polishes this is the brightest colored one.

Like another reader posted, these polishes look more like flakies then they do holo. Not sure why  they called them Chunky Holo's because there is nothing holo about them... anyways lol

The formula in these polishes are very thick, so you have to make sure the first coat is mostly dry before you add the next coat otherwise it's just going to get messy. There is a slight odor with these polishes but nothing real strong.

If your interested in buying these polishes yourself right now the seller on Ebay is having a sale, the link to the current active auction for these polishes is Kleancolor Nail Polish - Chuky Holo Set You get all 9 of the Chunky Holos and a bottle of Madly Matte.

The sellers store can be found here:

I've made an agreement with the seller that for every 10 people that order from them from my blog I will receive some polishes and I plan on using some of them for giveaways!!! When you order just make sure to use the code "peacock" They prices are great and cheaper then most other online stores. Please go check it out.

Again the ebay store is Beauty Couture and make sure to use the code "peacock"

Thanks for reading and please leave any questions and comments below. Have a great weekend!!

Remaining Pure Ice Swatches

I have the other 3 of the 5 Pure Ice colors I bought at Walgreens. I have the blue "All Night Long" the red "Super Star" and the green "Tease Me"

First up is "All Night Long":
This is a beautiful blue. It went on like a dream and I could have gotten away with one coat but I decided to do two anyways. This polish dried very shiny and so pretty. Again since I can't leave anything alone and I love to layer I added a coat of Klean Color "Cream Pearl" (Which I got this past weekend in my latest haul, will be on the next post) on top.

I was kinda sad that this polish dulled "All Night Long" some but I still like how it turned out. "Cream Pearl" is a tranlucent white base with blue, pink, and purple flecks in it. It is so pretty :)

Next up is "Super Star":

This is a very pretty red and I love the colors in it. There are gold and red  flecks in it make it muh different they any of my other reds. Again I layered it :) I used Pure Ice "Oh Baby" which made this much much pretier lol It's got all the colors of the rainbow hehe.

How pretty is that? :)

Last and sadly in my opinion least.... "Tease Me"

I was so disappointed with this polish. I love green and I wanted to love this color, but it just couldn't I don't know why. My mom liked it and so did a few others... Green is my favorite color so I was really surprised on how I felt about it. I figured layering something over it couldn't hurt anything, so that's what I did.

*Quick note: after I took this picture and I set my camera down it slid and fell on the ground and something inside of the lens broke, so this was the last pic i took with my nice Nikon D40 :( so until I can get a new camera I'll have to use my coolpix point and shoot... that said here are pics of my layering...

So there you have it. I think out of the 5 my favorites were the purple and the gold. Have you tried any of the otehr colors? Which one is your favorite?

Please leave any questions and comments below and  don't forget to follow my blog. Thanks for reading!!

An unexpected dupe!!

I recently found another blogger (NailXchange) who had China Glaze "Zombie Zest" and was willing to trade!! I was so excited. I later saw a picture of "Ick-A-Bod-Y" and have since been wanting that one as well. The other day I was at Wal-Mart and decided to take a stroll down the clearance aisle. I'm SO happy that i didn't I found 2 polishes I haven't seen before. They were from last Halloween from Hard Candy. I bought "Mischief" and "Wicked" After looking at "Mischief for a bit I decided to look and see if anyone had done a comparison between "Ick-A-Bod-Y" and "Mischief"... and they did...

I was soooooo excited. Now I don't have to drive myself crazy looking for the China Glaze polish :)
So on to today's mani...

These are the polishes I used for today...
L.A. Colors "Topaz", Sinful Colors "Show Me The Way", China Glaze "Ghoulish Glow, and Hard Candy "Mischief"
I wasn't really sure what I was going to do so I kinda just flew by the seat of my pants lol. I was going to use "Show Me The Way" as the base color, but I realized it was to sheer so I used "Topaz" as underwear. "Topaz" is a very pretty color and sparkly :)

I used 2 coats of "Topaz" and then topped it with 2 coats of "Show Me The Way"

I wanted to use "Mischief" but I just didn't know what to do with it so I just pick up a paintbrush and this is what I ended up with lol

The stripes aren't perfect, but I'm still pretty new to all of this :) Well that's all for tonight. I hope you like it and please follow me and leave any questions or comments you may have below. As always thanks for reading!

Oh and I almost forgot... Here is a preview for my next post :)

Picked by my Fiance... and another franken!

I never know what color(s) to paint my nails so I normally ask my mom (who lives downstairs from me) or my fiance, Jody, for color suggestions. Well it was Jody's turn and he said "bright green with pink tips" You may not know this about me but I LOVE green and I could care less about pink. I do have a couple pinks though. I wasn't really excited about his choice but I did it any ways..... and honestly, I'm really glad I did. I love how it turned out. The colors worked really well together. Ok on to the pictures :)

I don't know why but I forgot to take a picture of the green base color. For the base I used 2 coats of Essence "Lime Up", The pink was an L.A. Colors polish but it doesn't have a name If I ever figure out the name of it I will make sure to update this post   :(.... but until then...
I did the tips free hand instead of using guides. I just wanted to see how how I could do without them.... I think I need to keep using lol. I used two coats of the green, one coat of SV, two coats of the pink and another coat of SV.

Also since I love my new and very first Nubar I had to give it a try on this mani. I used 1 coat of Nubar 2010

The effect the Nubar 2010 had on the lighter colors is much different then when it is used on darker colors.

Next up is a franken I made. It doesn't have a name yet so if you have any ideas please let me know.

i pretty much just poured in a little of every glitter polish I had and some loose glitter for more sparkle :) You can never have too much glitter, there is no such thing!!!

This is 2 coat of my un-named franken

It reminds me of a few other polishes I've been seeing on another blog:

This is Deborah Lippman "Happy Birthday" from Lacquered Lover's Blog, The glitter in my polish is smaller but they do look a bit alike.

Also from the same blog is Milani Gems:

Well that's it for today. Please leave any comments you may have below :) Thanks for reading and please check out Lacqueres Lover's blog !!!
