Dark Heart Designs Swatches

Hello my dear readers. I recently was chosen to swatch products for Tina of Dark Heart Designs So far I love everything. I figured since I was taking the pictures of swatches I might as well do a blog post too. So on to the pretties :)

First up are the eyeshadows:
All of the shadow samples are in bags stamped with the name. Absinthe is described as "A bright cool-toned green shadow with a champagne sheen. Inspired by the liquor Absinthe, and the green fairy myth." Since I love greens, I knew I would like this one and I did.

Dark Magic Eyelixer is a product from Dark Heart. I find that I get an effect similar to using a foiling medium. I like that the Eyelixer is clear and isn't sticky like some primers or glitter glues.

Anna - "A dark champagne shadow with blue and copper sparkle." This one is a duochrome!!

Beautiful Nightmare - "A frosty cool-toned pink shadow. Inspired by Beyonce's Sweet Dreams."

Bone Daddy - "One of the colors from the Halloween on Christmas duochrome/sparkle collection, Bone Daddy is a pale cream/bone color with orange undertones and sparkle. Inspired by Jack, and created with his nicknames in mind: Bone Daddy, and Pumpkin King"

This one was hard to capture, but It is so beautiful. I think this was my favorite out of this set.

Carnival Queen - "A vibrant lemon yellow shadow with yellow sparkle. Inspired by my life in the carnival industry and the bright colors and beauty of the shows."

I'm not one for yellows, but I like this one with all the sparkles :)

Barrel - "Barrel Lip Slicks Gloss is a slightly sticky, semi-sheer, dark purple moisturizing gloss with subtle blue and green undertones. The name was inspired by Barrel's sometimes black, sometimes purple costume and green shaded skin tone."

This one is pretty, but it's not really for me. I prefer lighter colors personally, but I know there are a lot of girls who like the odd colors and I think this should be one to own. I like that it wasn't thick and it wasn't sticky either.

Love Bites - "Love Bites is a medium rosy pink inspired by the popular tv show, Once Upon A Time."

I LOVE this lipstitck. This is totally up my alley. Normally my lips dry out with lipsticks, but I did not have that problem with this one. I had a lipgloss I was going to put over it when needed but I didn't need it. I plan on getting a full size of this one soon. I Love it!!

I used it here:

Last but not least is:
Last up is the gel liner Bloody Mary which is a brick red color and I think I can see a little gold mixed in, but that might have just been my eyes playing tricks on me. I've never used a gel liner or any liner that wasn't in pencil form, but I'm looking forward to trying this one.

Well there you have it. Please check back soon for some more swatches from Dark Heart Designs Cosmetics If you haven't tried Tina's products yet I highly suggest you check her store out :)

Have a great day and thanks for reading :)

 Top: Ignite, Archangel, Inscribe
Bottom: Mysticism, Wrath Baby, Shadow Dance

I think my favorites out of these are Archangel and Mysticism.

I know I will be making an order soon. Femme Fatale is in Austriallia so shipping is a little longer, but totally worth it. Samples are $1.10 and Full sizes are $5.00. I can't wait to use these suckers on my peepers :) I need to start taking pics of the shadows on my eyes :)

Well that's all for now folks. Don't forget to check out the other ladies participating in the 90 Day Challenge:

Chromatic Cosmetics Swatches

So I'm trying to keep up with the 90 Day challenge... but I keep getting behind, so I have no idea what day I should be on, and I don't feel like trying to figure it out anymore lol. So this is just an entry for the challenge whatever day it's suppose to be :) On to the pretties!!!!

Today I have some swatches from Chromatic Cosmetics. I'm go glad I found this company. I recently placed a second order and all of the shadows surpassed my expectations. I stumbled across their etsy page one day while I was bored. I had a hard time deciding what colors to try and ended up ordering 30 samples lol. The baggie samples are $0.99 for 1 or $2.00 for 3.
The samples are a very nice amount.
If you haven't checked them out you really should!!
L to R - Top Row: Bereavement, Platonic, Autopsy, Hemoglobin, Sparkle-tini, Terrestrial
L to R - Bottom Row: Oh Mr. Sun, Midnight Lights, Blitzen, Seraph, Paramour, Lost Boy
L to R - Top Row: Bereavement, Platonic, Autopsy, Hemoglobin, Sparkle-tini, Terrestrial
L to R - Bottom Row: Oh Mr. Sun, Midnight Lights, Blitzen, Seraph, Paramour, Lost Boy

The only one I wasn't thrilled with was "Bereavement" the glitter in it was too big for my liking, but it is still an awesome color :)

My favorite is "Terrestrial" I bought a full jar with my last order. You can see it in a look I did a bit back here: My Eyes of Day 31 It is such an awesome color. It works as a highlight color and if you dust it over other shadows it adds so much to it and it can transform it into a totally different color!!! If you only order one shadow from Chromatic it should and must be "Terrestrial"!!!

Top Row: Ja Makin' Me Crazy, Pina Colada, Violater, Maryjane, Black Magic, Puppy Love
Bottom Row: Cadaver, Bedroom Eyes, Volatile, Mistletoe, Hard Cider, Shamrocked

Top Row: Ja Makin' Me Crazy, Pina Colada, Violater, Maryjane, Black Magic, Puppy Love
Bottom Row: Cadaver, Bedroom Eyes, Volatile, Mistletoe, Hard Cider, Shamrocked

I know that "Bedroom Eyes" and "Volatile" look alike, but they are more different in person. The blue/green shimmer in "Volatile" is so awesome.
"Bedroom Eyes" is described as - a hot pink/fuchsia with a blue/purple duochrome effect and sparks of white gold & sapphire shimmer
"Volatile" is described as - hothothot fuchsia that shifts into teal, kicked up with cool shimmer.

Top Row: Infatuation, Nutcracker, Starry Night, Three Wishes, Designer Drug, Blushing Bride
Bottom Row: Powder Room, Walk of Shame, Dream Weaver, Cafe Mocha, Stoned, Fruit Cake

Top Row: Infatuation, Nutcracker, Starry Night, Three Wishes, Designer Drug, Blushing Bride
Bottom Row: Powder Room, Walk of Shame, Dream Weaver, Cafe Mocha, Stoned, Fruit Cake

It's really hard for me to find words to describe each color, then are all so beautiful and unique. I want to owe every color that they make. All the shades apply like a dream. I've used them with primer and with Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy and they work great both ways.

If you haven't tried out Chromatic Cosmetics then I highly suggest that you do so now.

I have more shadows from this company. Theses are just the samples I purchased with my first order. If you'd like to see more please leave a comment letting me know and I will do swatches of my most recent order.

Well that's it for today. Don't forget to enter my giveaway if you haven't already:

Neons, Crackle, and Striping - Days 41, 42 & 43

Day 41 of the 90 Day Challenge
I did this mani before I realized that the popular trend right now is gradient manis. I wanted to do something bright, but I didn't want just one color. I decided to try doing a gradient. I haven't done many, maybe 1 or 2 in the past. I love how it came out :)
For this mani I did a base coat of China Glaze - "Oxygen" and then using a makeup sponge I sponged using:
China Glaze - "In The Lime Light"
Sinful Colors - "Neon Melon"
Sinful Colors - "Summer Peach"
China Glaze - "In The Lime Light"
Sinful Colors - "Neon Melon"
Sinful Colors - "Summer Peach"

Most of the nails turned out great. I had a few where the orange wanted to over take the yellow, but all and all it turned out awesome. I loved it and I can see me doing this one again. I plan on trying other neon colors. The sad thing though is while I had this mani I ended up breaking about 3 nails :( But on the upside they are all about the same length now!!

Day 42 of the 90 Day Challenge

My SO wanted me to paint my nails using green and gray. I decided to paint them green ad use gray crackle on top. The problem came when I couldn't decide which green to use.... so I choose 5 greens :)

L to R: China Glaze "Tree Hugger", "Four Leaf Clover", "Paper Chasing", Zoya "Ivanka", and Revlon "Rain Forest"

Thumb = "Rain Forest", Pointer = "Ivanka", Middle = "Paper Chasing", Ring = "Four Leaf Clover", Pinky = "Tree Hugger"

After I applied 2 coats of each polish to each nail I saw that 2 had a shimmer but the other 3 didn't so I added a coat of Icing "Call Me Glitzy" over the last 3. This way they all looked to have a similar finish.

I then added a coat of 2012 by Cherimoya "DNA" crackle polish.
Final Results:

All of the polishes went on great. The crackle was a bit thick and goopy, but it turned out so that's what matters :) I have a bunch of the 2012 crackles and I should use them more. I wonder if you can add thinner to crackle or if that would ruin it... Will have to do some research :)

Day 43 of the 90 Day Challenge

The last thing for today is a mani that I am currently wearing while typing up this post. I used the gradient method again but I also used some striping tape :)

I used 2 coats of Nicole by O.P.I. "Kim-Pletely In Love" but I forgot to take a picture :/ sorry

I then sponged over that using Sinful Colors "Dream On" and "Bikini"

 Sinful Colors "Dream On"

 Sinful Colors "Bikini"

I added a coat of SV Quick Dry and then applied striping tape to each nail. I used the same designs on my other hand too. I then applied 1 coat of China Glaze "Smoke and Ashes"

I need to work on getting my tape straight but other then that I really like the results :)

Well that's it for today. I'm trying to catch up with the 90 challenge that's why I posted for 3 days in one post.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway!!

Venomous Cosmetics Swatches - Day 32

Day 32 of the 90 Day Challenge

Today I have swatches of my latest order from Venomous Cosmetics If you haven't heard of them or haven't tried them out, GO, Run, NOW!! lol I've loved every color I've gotten. They are so pretty! And most of them are named after critters tat the owner, Tracy, has as pets! So awesome. She is currently on maternity break, she hasn't given a re-open date, but that is understandable. I know that I'll be placing another order when she opens back up. Ok, so on to the swatches!!!

There are 2 types of shadows that you can order from Venomous: Loose Shadows and Pressed Shadows.
This post is just the loose shadows I got. All samples come in little plastic baggies with name lables and ingredients. I always put my samples in jars, it's just easier for me. So the pics are the jars I put them in.
L to R: Top Row - In Orbit, Bravest Astronaut, Boomslang, Fire Ant, Over The Rainbow
Bottom Row - Field Of Clover, Envied Iris, Reaping Day, Faraway Galaxy, African Violet
All swaeches were applied over Urban Decay Promer Potion:
Top Row - In Orbit, Bravest Astronaut, Boomslang, Fire Ant, Over The Rainbow
Bottom Row - Field Of Clover, Envied Iris, Reaping Day, Faraway Galaxy, African Violet
I did enhance the colors a little to get the majority of them to look the same as IRL. I think the only one that is a bit off is "Fire Ant" Which is red not orange. One reason I like Venomous is because the colors are so vibrant. The other 9 shadows are pretty much true to color. You can see "Boomslang" in my last post.
"Over the Rainbow" and "Field of Clover" were from the St. Patty's collection. I believe Tracy has said that all the colors are always available so if you like them, I'm sure you can contact her and you could still order them... I'm about 90% sure on that lol.
Top Row - In Orbit, Bravest Astronaut
Bottom Row - Field Of Clover, Envied Iris

"Bravest Astronaut" makes me think of  butter London "Disco Biscuit" nail polish :)
Top Row - Boomslang, Fire Ant
Bottom Row - Reaping Day, Faraway Galaxy
"Reaping Day" Is from the Hunger Games Collection. I have a couple other from this collection, but they were pressed shadows and I'm going to include them in my swatches for my other pressed ones from Venomous in another post.
Top Row - Fire Ant, Over The Rainbow
Bottom Row - Faraway Galaxy, African Violet
In general I love all of my Venomous shadows. It's hard to pick a favorite or even a couple favorites. I highly recommend you place an order as soon as you can. The owner Tracy is great and she is very quick at responding to any questions. You can also find Venomous on facebook for more information.

That's it for today:) Keep checking back and don't forget to check out the other girls participating in the 90 Day Challenge:
