My storage solution...

I've been looking for a type of storage unit for my growing polish collection. I considered getting a helmer from Ikea but I didn't want to spend $40 and then an additional $20+ for shipping since there is no Ikea in Wisconsin. So I decided to keep looking around to see what I could find.

After work one day I went to one of my local Goodwill store to see what I could find....

I found this....

If you don't know what this is then that means I must be old lol. This is one of those storage units people used to organize their VHS tapes lol. I looked at it for a few minutes and started to see some real potential. I ended up buying 2 of them for $0.99 each.. I figured that if it didn't work out I would only be out $2 lol.

Here is what the drawers look like inside....

I decided that to give me a little more room in the drawers I decided to try and "remove" the little divider things. This is what I ended up with...
So all in all it really worked out great. depending on the size of the bottles I can get about 45-50 bottles in each drawer which is about 100 bottles per unit.

I also used labels so I knew what is in each drawer. I separated my polishes by brand.. I know a lot of girls organize by color but I prefer by brand for some reason lol
So I had the 2 units and some white drawer things I had bought a couple weeks before that... This is what it all looked like...
Both of these were almost full already lol.... So I found myself at another Goodwill :) I decided to look around to see if I could find more. I got lucky. I found 4 identical units but they were $1.99, but that still beats $40+ and they work just as good.

So here is what I have right now. I have one empty unit that I didn't need just yet so I put it aside for when I do. The drawers aren't totally full, there is plenty of room for growth with these units....
Not sure if you can see it but the drawer labled "L.A. Colors" is cracked... Yeh I had a dumb moment and I was trying to take a picture of the polish in the drawer and just after I took the picture the drawer fell out and the polish went every where lol. But it still works find, it's just cosmetic.

So what do you think of my solution?? Do you think you would give this a try? Did you find a different solution besides a helmer? Please leave any comments or questions below and don't forget to follow by blog. Thanks for reading!!!!

Busy Weekend!!

So I promised to get up some swatches from the Pure Ice holiday collection so here are 2 of the 5 I bought.

First up it the purple one named "Bedtime"
This is such a pretty purple and it is very vibrant. It stands out a lot. I really liked how it turned out. The polish went on great, but it was a bit sheer so it took 3 coats for full opacity. This was my first time trying to do my nails and leaving a gap by the cuticles so it isn't super clean.
I kinda looks like there is glitter in the picture, but there isn't, it did have a beautiful shimmer in it though. If you like purples you will love this color. I have a few purples but I don't think I have anything close to this exact color. It's so much prettier on the nail and in person then it is in the bottle or in pictures.
The polish came off super easy with acetone, which is what I normally use.

The next color is the gold named "Bite Me"... first off I love the name lol... and it has nothing to do with the holidays but it's still an awesome name... anyways..
I love this gold. I think it is the prettiest gold that I have. It almost looks like a foil but it isn't.

It shines so much. I just love it... and since I can never leave good enough alone....
I did 1 coat of Nicole by O.P.I. "Make a Comet-ment" I just loved the extra flash of colors it gave off.
This one is a little blurry so you can see all of the pretty colors :)

This is pretty close to what it looks like IRL.

Tomorrow I will post the red polish named "Super Star" and my creative and cheap solution to my polish storage issue. If you have any questions or comments please do so below. Thanks for reading!!!

Pure Ice Holiday Collection

I was at Walgreens yesterday and I saw that Pure Ice has their holiday collection out.

I'm really surprized at how nice the picture came out since I took it on my phone lol.... anyways... The colors are so pretty. I bought 5 of them last night, I got the gold (3rd from the left), green (5th), purple (6th), blue (7th), and the dark red (10th) and I will be posting a review on those colors during the next few days.

I also saw that Sally Hansen has a couple holiday sets out.

I didn't look at the name of the colors because now of them really interested me but I did take pictures. There are 4 sets and each set had two color polishes and one clear coat.

Do you plan on getting any of the Pure Ice or Sally Hansen collections? Have you seen these in your area?

Thanks for reading and please don't forget to follow my blog and leave any questions or comments below. Thanks!!!

L'Oreal "Owls Night"

This is a short post since I am pretty tired but i wanted to get something up :)

I love this color. It is very pretty and pictures don't do it justice. I've heard that a lot of people have been having trouble finding it, but I had no problem at all. The first time I saw it at Walgreen's I passed it up because it didn't seem like anything special. Then I saw a swatch of it on another blog and knew I needed to get it :)

This polish has a dark brownish olive base and gold shimmer in it. Very pretty!!

This polish is so much prettier in person. Plus I think I am getting better at cleaning up.... still need some practice. :)

Has anyone else had trouble finding this polish?
