Fingerpaints & Zoya

So I saw a few posts about the new FingerPaints collection that is due out next month. You can see Polish Insomniac's post here: Coming Soon All Flakie Collection from FingerPaints

She has bottle shots of all 5 colors. Granted they don't look like much in the bottle, most flakies don't. But don't let that deceive you :)

I also saw a post by Siobhan at The Nailphile where she said she found them early at a Sally's and posted swatches of all 5 here

Well today I stopped in at one of my local Sally's and asked if they had them yet... The sales girl said "Yes, we just got them, let me make sure we can sell them..." About 1 minute later she came walking out with the display :) :) :) Oh happy day!!! I wanted to do a little happy dance... but I didn't want her to think I was "special" lol So I just told her I'd take one of each color and made my way to the register. I had a coupon for $5 off of $25 so I grabbed a $0.99 eyeshadow since I was short about 5 cents lol. So I pretty much bought 4 and got one free.... (and an eyeshadow lol) I was happy my whole way home :)

So I decided to show you my very first Zoya polish and one of the new FP polishes :)

Here is my very first Zoya Polish "Edyta":

I LOVE this polish. I almost didn't want to layer over it. It is a gorgeous golden olive green/brown to gunmetal/black shift. It is such a pretty color and I love love love it. I will be picking up a few more Zoya polishes if they are as pretty as "Edyta"!!! Weird name but awesome color :)

This is two coats of "Edyta" I decided to try out FingerPaints "Twisted" first since it has so many colors in it :) Here's some spam, I really wish I had a better lens on my camera to do both of these some justice.... oh well, hopefully soon...
Not sure where that hair (most likely from one of my fur babies) on my index finger came from. I didn't see it when I was taking the picture... sorry :(

A blurry pic to be able to see all the different color a little better

"Twisted" is so awesome. There are so many colors in this flakie is is beyond awesome....

What do you think? Do you plan on getting an of these polishes? Please leave any questions of comments below and as always, Thanks for reading :)

Sunset Mani...

Last Saturday I was out driving around and I just happed to look at the sky as the sun was going down. It was so pretty. The nice blue sky with fluffy litte clouds that were tinted red from the sun. As I looked at the sky I said to myself: "Raeven... You need to make your nail look like the sky." I thought I had a pretty good idea, so when I got home I pulled out a nail wheel to play with some colors to see if I could find a combination of colors to give me the effect I was looking for....

This is what I ended up with...

I think it turned out pretty good. I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors "Rise and Shine" the blue was a little brighter then I wanted but when I added 2 coats of Maybelline Colorama "Ruby Rays" it muted the blue out a little and made it the perfect shade for me. After that I felt that it still needed a little something so I added a coat of OTD Northern Lights... PERFECT!!!! I loved how it turned out so much that I kept it on for 3 days.. normally I change every other day if not every day... It turned out better then I though it would and IMO it looked even better in person. Flakies are so hard to capture on camera :/

I recieved "Ruby Rays" from a swap I did with Nail Xchange it was a surprise she threw in and I was so excited about it since I don't really have a lot of flakies :)

What do you think? Have you used either of these polishes before.

Thanks for reading and as always please leave any comments or questions below!!!

The one without a name...

Grrrr... I'm kind of distracted right now due to my little demon dog (as my mom calls him) He just peed on my bed, thank god for the mattress pad I have and now that he is in his crate for the night he won't stop whining. Normally he goes to bed like a good boy, but he's so bad tonight that I was forced to move his crate out of the bedroom just so I could concentrate on my post. Some people have told me that I shouldn't have his crate in the bedroom, but I mainly do it because my house gets cold at night and the bedroom is warmer. lol..... ok enough babbling... on to the nail stuff   :)

I was at Walgreens a few weeks ago and I saw they had 2-packs of Pure Ice polish containing one color and one crackle top-coat. I had already gotten most of them individually but I saw a green that really caught my eye and it came with a silver crackle which worked for me because I have the silver from OPI, but I don't care for it much and I tend to like the Pure Ice crackles better :) so it was a win-win. The green doesn't have a name.. just a number.
2 coats

Bottom of the bottle... I always feel bad when a nice polish doesn't have a proper name... lol. This polish went on great and it is so pretty. Knowing I can't leave well enough alone I used some top coats... like 4 of them lol
First was 2 coats of Pure Ice "Oh Baby" I love that it brings out the blue hue in the polish.
It wasn't a big difference so I decided to try something else too... I used Finger Paints "Sparkle Top Coat", and China Glaze "Golden Enchantment" and "Fairy Dust" One coat of each.

I loved how it turned out. Pictures don't do it justice. I loved it so much I left it on for 3 or 4 days. Normally I change polish every other day. Every time I looked at my nails I felt as if I was looking in to tiny little galaxies. I like how every polish added to the overall look an didn't cover up the coat below it. I will have to use these all again over a different base color :)

What do you think???
