Mani & A mini Spoiled Haul!

Today I have a mani to show you and some Spoiled polishes that I have added to my ever growing collection. So without further ado, here is my mani...

This mani was done using  coats of "Armed and Ready" by Essie and 2 coats of "Sub-Lime" by Piggy Polish.
"Armed and Ready" is a murky brownish color with a duo chrome color of coppery gold. I love how it looks on the nail, but it is just really hard to capture it on camera.
"Sub-Lime" has a hint of gold flecks in it that really gives it some depth and make a unique green to own I was lucky enough to find it on clearance (as you can tell by the sticker lol). This is a beautiful color and a great addition to my collection as well.

You can really see the duo chrome when it is in the bottle. It translates well onto the nail, just hard to get it on camera. It pretty much looks like this when on the nail.

Ok, now here are some more of the Spoiled polishes that I picked up. I'm still looking to pick up a few more and then I will have all of the ones that I wanted from seeing the promo shots :) Here is what I recently picked up:
Battle Of The Sexes, Cougar Attack, Are Mermaids Real?, Shrimp On The Barbie, Shuffle The Deck, Use Protection, Jewelry Heist

I'm not the greatest in describing polishes, but i'll try:
"Battle Of The Sexes" is a Blue, Purple, and Pink glitter in a clear base
" Cougar Attack" is Copper glitter a brownish base
"Are Mermaids Real?" is a purple with goldish flecks/duo chrome

"Shrimp On The Barbie" is similar to "Are Mermaids Real?" except it is pink
"Shuffle The Deck" is Black, Red, and Silver large round glitter in a clear base
"Use Protection" is similar to "I Have A Confection To Make" except it is pink
"Jewelry Heist" is jewel tones large round glitter in a clear base

Would you like to see a mani done with any of these colors? Do you own any of these? Which are your favorites?

Nabi Magnetic Polishes.... by reader request :)

On Sunday I post my hail pics from the day and some of the polishes I got were magnetic polishes by the brand Nabi that I found at Walgreens. I got a couple requests to do some swatches from tubcat and thepeach, so here they are :)

These polishes do not have names, so I will just refer to them by their colors, Silver, Gold, and Green. These are the first Nabi polishes I've ever bought and my first magnetic polishes. The first con I noticed with these is that the magnet it part of the bottle cap. The magnets can not be removed from the cap so it is a little bit of a pain in the but. The second issue I had (before even buying them) was there was no lip on the magnet on which to rest upon my finger so I didn't touch it to my nail. Bu I decided to still give them a try since it's the newest trend.

These were $5.98 each I believe, which isn't too bad. I really liked the colors and couldn't wait to give them a try. There are a total of 3 different magnet design so I made sure to get one of each. The designs are straight lines, diagonal lines, and chevrons. I figured if they sucked as magnetic polishes at least I still liked the colors lol, just thinking positive :)

I love greens so I decided to try that one first. The bottle says to use one coat and then the magnet... but I ignored it and did one coat to cover the nail and then a second coat with the magnet. For the first coat the polish went on smooth with no issues. The coverage was good too. I applied the second coat one nail at a time and used the chevron magnet from the gold bottle. This is what I got....

The outcome.... not great lol. I think it wasn't just me that failed but the polish too. It is a tricky thing to do. Why? Well here's why...

Reason #1: The magnet is flat... Nails are not, they have a roundish surface... (you know what I mean, right?) So to get the design on the full nail and not just the center of the nail you have to figure out how to rotate either your finger or the magnet, but no so much as to ruin the design.

Reason #2: I think I should have used a thicker 2nd coat since this polished seemed to dry pretty fast.. at least to me it seemed that way.

Reason 3#: I haven't tried other magnetic polishes or the other magnets so I don't know if the are stronger or something, maybe a stronger magnet would produce a stronger design...

I don't know yet...

I decided to give the other two a try.

The gold polish was so awesome. It looks just like a tigers eye stone. The application was really great and I love it. The silver is really pretty too. When you look at it in person you can see all the different color fleck that are in the polish. Application for the silver was.. crappy. The other two colors I only needed a total of 2 coats. With the silver I had to do 4 total. The polish was very sheer and seemed just a bit watery to me, but It's still pretty so I guess it was worth the work lol.

Getting a hang of the magnets are going to take some practice. I used all three magnets in the pics of the silver and gold swatches. My index and ring finger I used the diagonal, on the index finger was the chevron, and on my pinky I used the straight lines.

My final verdict:
I like the polishes but I wish the magnets were a bit different, but I would still buy them since the colors are beautiful and they seems to work good with some practice :) Practice makes perfect does it not. One other thing to note about them is they do have a little bit of a stink smell to them, but it goes away quick and doesn't linger after drying.

Do you plan on getting any polishes from this line? Do you already have some?

Please leave any questions or comments below and as always that you for reading. :)

My Sunday Haul

I don't do sports so I decided that while everyone was getting ready for the game that I would do some hunting. I'm glad I did. I killed 3 lemmings :)

Here's what I all got....

I went to a small nail supply shop that I found a few months ago. They usually have a lot of OPI and China Glaze and some Color Club,  Here is what I got from there...
(CG "Techno" was actually from Sally's I just put them all together for the picture)
"Sex On The Beach" and "Sea Spray" just peaked my interest when I saw them so I picked them up. "Awakening" was one of my lemmings. "Techno" is from the new Electropop  collection. This was the only one that interested me in the whole collection. Seeing them in person didn't change that either. :( Pity, CG is one of my favorite brands... I was disappointed in the new collection.. oh well.

2 more of my lemmings that I killed was O.P.I."My Private Jet" and "I Lily Love You." Sadly "MPJ" is the re-released version without the holo, but I still like it and I wanted both the original and re-release! Now I just need to find the original. I also picked up my very first Color Club polishes.

So Pretty!!!

I also stopped at Walgreens just to check it out and they had a big display of these magnetic polishes. I've been wanting to try out the magnetic trend, but just never came across them, so I decided to pick up a couple. They had so many colors it was hard to decide which to get so I just went with pretty basic colors for me. They don't have any names, but I made sure to get one of each of the 3 magnet types. I'm wearing the green one right now.
Just
Just by looking at the bottles the first con I can already is is the magnet itself. It's part of the can so you can't pull it off like some other brand, and it doesn't have the little lips on them like others have, but I was still willing to give them a try.

The Milani came from CVS and the others were from Wal-Mart. I've bee looking for the Red one-coat-glitter and I has happy to find it with the release of new glitters. The others just grabbed my attention so I got them :) No polish left behind lol

Pure Ice  and petites were also from Wal-mart. Not sire if the Pure Ice  colors are new, but I don't think I've seen them before. petites is a new one for me too.
These I snagged from Dollar Tree. Nothing special, but the glitters are sitting in polish for testing to see how they hold up.
I love the stars. For $1 you get 1 packet of pink holo glitter, 1 packet of silver holo glitter, 1 packet of black shiny stars, and 1 packet of white rhinestone. Not a bad deal. I bought 2 of them right away.

Well that's it. I'm pretty happy with my haul. What do you think. Do you have, or want any of these polishes? Are there any you would like to see swatches of? Please let me know and leave any other questions or comments below, and as always, Thank you for reading!

Tick:Tock Cosmetics!!!! Picture Heavy!!!

I finally got the internet back!!! *does a happy dance* Ok so I'm just going to jump into it since I've been gone for a bit.

I recently bought the sampler pack from Tick:Tock Cosmetics.  I was lucky enough to be named the fan of the week on their Facebook page so I got a store credit and since I was having such a hard time deciding what to get I went for the sampler :) For $20 you get a sample of all 32 shadows and a full Infinity eye shadow base in "Milky Way" which is white. In this review I'm only able to show 31 colors because they were out of "Delorean" So I will add that once I recieve it :)

Be warned this is very picture heavy. This is my first time doing swatches so I hope this turns out ok. I wanted to make sure I was able to really show what each shadow looks like. All shadows are swatched over T:T's Infinity base in "Milky Way" So here it goes!!!!

In each set the first picture shows the shadow in the container I put them in w/original label from the baggies that came in. The second photo is the shadow swatched on my hand. The third photo shows the actual product.

I love all of the colors. So far I've only used a couple but I'm excited to try them all. The application of them was awesome and the color payoff it great as well. As you can see in the pictures they all have some sparkle to them which is another reason I like them. I love how all the names are time themed. Each color is so different than all the others and they are all a must have in my book. Also you can see that you recieve a very genorous amount of product for samples.

I'm very happy with all of the shadows and I highly recommend them if you are looking for some awesome colors that have some sparkle to them.

Are there any colors you would like to see on the eye? I'd be happy to take requests and post pics of them. Do you have any of these shadows?

As always thank you for reading and please leave any questions of comments below.

Stupid Internet!!!!

So I can only access the Internet from work right now. That's why I haven't been posting. I have not abandoned my treasured followers. I should be back on Thursday night when the Internet at home has been fixed. My first post back will be a review on Tick:Tock Cosmetics. I bought their samples collection so I was able to swatch ALL of their shadows. So much prettiness to look forward to :) Until then! :)
