Day 14: Flowers

Flowers is the theme for today. I was going to do some stamping.... but I decided to try out some freehand and dotting. I guess it turned out ok....

lol yeh, those are my goofy looking flowers. I started out with 2 coats of Barry M "Spring Green" on my ring finger I used some flower shaped "glitters" that I bought from the dollar store as the accent nail.

For the flowers I used a dotting tool to make the "petals" of the flowers. I used Color Mates "Metallic Venom" and...

 Color Mates "Look At Me!"

I used a couple of stripers from the dollar store to create the center of the flowers and the flower stems and leaves.

To finish it all up I dabbed on some Orly "Monster Mash" from some grass:)

So there you have it... my little flowers.

Thanks for reading and check back tomorrow for my delicate print nails :) And remember to check out the other ladies below....

Day 13 - Animal Print

I'm trying to get better with nail stamping so I figured this would be a good chance to practice.

I started with 2 coats of China Glaze "Desert Sun" which is a beautiful butterscotch color. I can't remember if I've used it before or not, so I'm counting this as an untried. hehe...

I added a little of glitter since you always need a little sparkle :) I didn't wanted to put it on the whole nail since it is suppose to be an animal print. I figured a little glitter would give the mani a little Bam! I used Spoiled "Pirate's Booty" It's a nice gold glitter with a little bit of red in it.

I used China Glaze "Liquid Leather" for the stamping. The stamping it's the best, but I love how it turned out and when I look at it I think of a cheetah running after it's prey in the bright sun.

I just have to keep practicing my stamping. It can only get better right :)

Well that's my animal print mani for today. Check back tomorrow for the next installment of the 30 Day Challenge, which is flowers... which will probably include another round of stamping for me :)

Thanks for reading and make sure to check all of the other wonderful ladies participating in this challenge.

Day 12: Stripes

It's Breakfast At Tiffany's today. It's stripes day. What I had originally had planned for this mani ended up becoming something totally different.

I started out with 2 coats of Finger Paints "Tiffany Imposter", which is my untried polish, but after looking at it I decided to make it look like a Tiffany's box. I've never shopped there or even looked at anything there, but I knew that their boxes were kind of an icon.

I used a striper that I picked up at Sally's Beauty for a buck on clearance. It doesn't have a name. It's like a satin white, and I thought it would be perfect for ribbon. I didn't want all the nails to look the same so I switched up the directions of the lines.

I added some light blue rhinestones to added a little something. I thought they made the mani look a lot nicer. I know it's a pretty simple mani, but I still like it.

Well that's it for today. Check back tomorrow for animal print nails, and check out the other mani's the ladies have done below.

Day 11: Polka Dots

Today I have a polka dot mani for you, or as I always say "pokie dot" hehe This is actually a mani I've been wanting to do for awhile, so this was the push I needed to finally do it.

I stated with 2 coats of one of my favorite greens, China Glaze "I'm With The Lifeguard" I love that it's neon and it is opaque without a need of underwear.

For the polka dots I used OPI "Every Month Is Oktoberfest" from the current Germany Collection, and is my untried. I love that it's a deep dark purple and it's noticeable purple and not black in person.

I used 3 different sizes dotting tools. I started out by using the largest dotting tool to kinda make a french tip on all nails and then using the largest and the other two sizes to kind of make a falling effect with the dots.

I really love how this mani turned out and I wish I would have done it sooner. I plan on doing this again using different colors. I almost don't want to take it off, but I am doing a challenge so it has to come off tonight to make way for my stripe mani.

Thank you for reading and please keep checking back for the rest of the 30 day challenge. Also check out the other ladies below :)

Follow Up and A Reader Request

So first up I wanted to share the follow up to my glitter mani using the Elmer's glue as a peel off base. Here is the removed polish...

They all came off in one piece except of of the pinky nails (the red glitter) I think it was mostly due to me not being totally sure how to approach the removal. I tried using a wooden cuticle stick, but it didn't work very well. So I just used my nails. I like to peel so I was itching to remove them all day :)

With this as the end result I plan on using the glue many times in the future. I'm so happy I can use my glitter a lot more now. I, like most ladies I'm sure, avoided glitter just because of the pain in the ass removal.

Next up is a comparison request from Beth. She wanted me to compare Butter London "Disco Biscuit" and Sinful Colors "Forget Now" So here it it....

 The 2 contenders.

Please excuse the messy application. I only applied the polish to show the two polishes. The 1st and 3rd nail is 3 coats of Butter London "Disco Biscuit" and the 2nd and 4th nail is Sinful Colors "Forget Now"

The polishes are pretty close, except "Disco Biscuit" has blue shimmer and dries semi matte.

"Forget Now" is all pink and pink shimmer, not really any blue within it. So they are very close in similarity but now total dupes. I think a big collector would want both, but someone who isn't picky would be happy with just "Forget Now"

Well that's it :) Keep checking back for the 30 Day Challenge and for my upcoming giveaway!
