Nerd Alert: Sticks and Stones

This is a shortish post, but I've been wanting to share it. These are two polishes that I just love, I even made a ring to match this mani :)

I started out with 2 coats (maybe 3 lol) Wet N Wild "Nerd Alert: Screech" which was from the Saved By The Nail Collection. I use to watch Saved By The Bell so I made sure to get this collection.
I layered 2 coats of Ninja Polish "Sticks and Stones" This is the only indie polish I own and it took me months and tons of swatch pictures to finally break down and buy it.
"Sticks and Stones" has looked beautiful over everything I put it on, but I really love this combo since green is one of my favorite colors, So I'm just loving this mani!!!
One thing I never noticed in all the swatches I saw was that there is a sprinkle of holographic glitter mixed in, and I think it gives this polish a little something more.
If your like me, and you don't normally lean towards indie polishes, I highly suggest that you get this polish. I don't think any collection is complete without it.
Well that's it for today I hope you liked this post. Please remember to follow me if you aren't already. Thanks for reading!

Shredded Orange!

This is a simple mani that works for the season and for Halloween. No nail art abilities needed. And it looks so pretty! Please excuse the crap clean up. I usually do my nails at night and since it was getting late and I was getting tired I kinda slacked on the clean up...but I still think the end results are nice :)

I started with a glue base, and then 2 coats of Collection 2000 "Hip Hop" It's a bright orange and the formula is pretty good.

I then added 2 coats of Spoiled "Vitamin C" I was going to just use this polish as the base but I realized that it is a very sheer polish that really needs underwear. I find it to be a beautiful color. It's a nice bright orange with a very strong gold shimmer.

 Sooooo Beautiful!

Sorry for all the pictures, but I think this polish is worthy of  like nail porn :) I could stare at these nails all day.

 Hehe ok last one :)

I then topped this beauty with 2 coats (1 dabbed on) of The Icing "Shredded" It's a really cool polish that looks like pencil shavings. I think it looks great over this polish, and just about any other polish you could put it over.

This polish is a top coat eater. I'm one of those people that will pick at stuff, so I NEEDED this to be smoothed out lol. I think I did 4 coats of my clear quick dry. If I had been thinking I would have used my Gelous top coat, but sometimes I forget I have it lol.

I just love how this turned out and I think it looks great for the fall season, and it makes a great look for Halloween as well.

Well that's it for tonight. I hope you enjoyed this mani as much as I do. If you follow me in Instagram you would have seen a preview of my nails, if your not and would like to follow me my name on there is "Raeven13"

Thank you for reading and please remember to follow me if you haven't done so already. Thanks!!!

Durability Of A Glue Base

Last month I found out about the awesome glue base. If you don't know what this is your totally missing out. I've posted about it before. It works really great and peels off so easy. I decided I wanted to see how long it would last. I started out with using 2 of the new China Glaze polishes from the Wicked Collection.

I started out with 2 coats of China Glaze "Cast A Spell" It's a beautiful golden black, that is much prettier then pictures can show.

I think this is different then the other black I have. I think it might be a little similar to Butter London "Wallis" but I'm not totally sure.

Look at that pretty golden shimmer.

Another polish from the Wicked Collection "Make A Spectacle" I didn't do a full comparison, but a side by side bottle view shows that this is similar to "Snow Globe" from the winter collection last year, except "Make A Spectacle is more iridescent.

I applied 1 coat of "Make A Spectacle" but you can't see how beautiful it is in pictures.

So I decided to wear this mani until it started looking crappy. I applied this on a Thursday and it lasted until Sunday night. It held up against a couple showers, but it's downfall was doing dishes lol. Here is what my nails looked like after doing the dishes on the last day:

Left hand - It looks great with just a bit of tip wear.

Right hand - The one nail cam off while doing dishes, I didn't even realize it at first lol.

I think having a glue base held up really well. One thing I did notice is that when removing the polish it didn't come off in the big easy pieces that it normally did. All in all I think it worked out really great and I highly recommend using glue as a nail polish base.

Well that's it for tonight. Thank you so much for reading. Have a great night!

Handmade Polish Stands!

So I've been wanting to get a stand to hold some of my most used nail polish and some of my glitter polishes. Here is a sneak peek:

I first tired to make the famous polish rack using foam board and hot glue. You can find it everywhere on youtube, but for posting sake here is the one that I used :) But there are a lot more of them out there.

Ok so I made this rack and it cost me a total of $4. I got everything at the dollar store. 3 pieces of foam board and a pack of hot glue sticks. I already had a hot glue gun and the blade.

I made it and then I realized... "Where am I suppose to put this???" lol so I wasted all that time making the damn thing and I hadn't spent the few minutes beforehand to plan on where to put it. I was just so excited to make the dang thing.

So after a day of staring as this huge rack I had nowhere to put I decided to try again. I bought a couple more foam boards and another pack of glue sticks. I sat down on my floor and pictured my idea rack and where I would put it (the important thing I skipped the first time lol).

I did a little searching on youtube and couldn't find what I was looking for, I'm sure it's out there but I just couldn't find it. So I decided that I wanted the rack to fit on top of my Melmers. I started by measuring the Melmer and took a little off each side so I knew it wouldn't hang over. I settled on a base of 14' by 10'

This is what I ended up with. Remember, I was cutting and gluing as I went.
Look at my poor puppy in the background!

I used all white foam board to make the whole thing. Afterwards I used neon green poster board for the sides and black poster board for the "steps." Each step is 2' wide and 2' tall. I really love how it all turned out.
It's exactly what I wanted and I think it turned out really well for not having a plan and just starting from scratch :)
I'm so proud of my creation. Like I said before I'm sure there is a tutorial out there somewhere but I didn't find it, of course I gave up looking after about 10 minutes lol.

It fits perfect on top of my Melmer and it holds about 50-60 bottle of polish, it could hold more or less all depending on the size of the bottles.

I'm so happy with it that I've already made a 2nd one. I've considered making a tutorial...but I'm not sure if anyone is interested, so if you are please let me know in the comments :)

Also.... If you would be so kind I entered in the Bundle Monster contest. It's my first time in a contest and if you would be so kind I'd love it if you would take a few seconds and vote for me :)
