Two Polish Comparisons

I haven't done one of these posts in awhile, so I thought it was time. Since this is a comparison post, the clean up isn't perfect.

The first comparison is:
Ulta "Material Girl" vs Zoya "Blaze"
In the bottle they looked kinda similar, but on the nail.... Not even close lol. All nails are 2 coats.

"Material Girl" is more of a berry color where "Blaze" is on the reddish side. both have a scattered holo.

I personally prefer "Blaze" I didn't really care for "Material Girl" once I saw it on the nail. "Blaze" is a bit more shiny too.

Since I didn't really care for "Material Girl" I put it up on my blog sale, and it is already on it's way to a new home :)

The next comparison is"
China Glaze "Glistening Snow" vs. FingerPaints "Sparkle and Snowflake"

First I just want to note that while taking pictures I somehow scrapped my nail on my ring finger. I didn't realize this until after I took my pictures and was removing my polish... sorry :(

I love "Glistening Snow" and I've already bought a back up bottle. In the bottles these polishes look a lot alike. On the nail they are very similar, but they have a few slight differences.

The first nails are 1 coat over black. The next two nails are 2 coats on the bare nail. "Glistening Snow" is a more dense and opaque polish and can be worn alone, I've done it. "Sparkle and Snowflake" is more of a topper and less dense. Not a stand alone polish.

I love both of these polishes and they have a loving home. I think they are both great and the formulas are smooth. If I had to choose just one, it would be "Glistening Snow" but i don't have to choose so I'm keeping them both lol.

Well I hope this post was helpful. If you'd like to see more comparison posts please let me know. If no one really wants to see them then I guess there is no point in posting them.

Thanks for reading, and if you haven't done so already please enter my giveaway.

Jaded Leather Zebras???

I know it's a weird title, but I was trying to go with the names of the polishes lol. I'm really trying to post more and I thought that if a scheduled 1 or 2 posts at a time, it would work out easier for me. Yesterday I posted a regular post and a giveaway and today's is a scheduled post. I don't think it really matters that much if a post is made the day of or scheduled ahead of time. Oh so that's enough babble for this post, on to the jaded zebras lol.

I really like the color green so it's no surprise that I am posting another green mani lol. This one was actually inspired by a bra I just bought, I didn't really need one, but it was on sale and it was green lol. Here is my inspiration:
Plus I have smaller boobs and it's a push up, so win-win lol

I started out with 2 coats of Spoiled "I'm So Jaded"

For the stamping I used China Glaze "Liquid Leather"

The stamping plate I used was from the Shany set that I just got last week. The actual image stamped perfect.

I'm still perfecting my stamping skills so any blur or smudges are totally my fault. I had no problems getting the image to transfer to the stamper, which was awesome because sometimes I have that issue with other plates.
Since I didn't get the image to all the edges on my nails I decided to do a french tip to make it look better. I free-handed the tips so they aren't totally even.

In the end I love how this turned out and I can't wait to try more of the Shany plates, which can be bought here: Shany Cosmetics If all the images work like this I'm a happy girl. Side note: The main reason I got this set was for the koala image lol. I can't believe I didn't use that one first.

If you haven't don't so already please enter my giveaway:

Do you own the Shany plate set? What's your favorite image? Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day.

My Just Because Giveaway!

I've been meaning to do another giveaway, and I was going to wait until I reach 600 followers, but I seem to be stock at 570 lol, so I decided to just do it. I want someone to win so I can send someone something to make their day better.

On to the prizes:
The winner will receive Sally Hansen Lustre Shine "Scarab", Revlon "Whimsical" and Sally Hansen Lustre Shine "Lava"

Sorry, but this time around the giveaway is not open internationally, but I promise my next one will. The giveaway ends on 1/31/13. Good Luck!!!

Jack The Lifeguard Green Gradient

I haven't done just a plain gradient in awhile and I like to think I'm pretty good at them. Green is my favorite color and I wanted something bright. I always think a nice pretty manicure can really cheer you up, at least it does for me :)

This isn't going to be a very wordy post. Sometimes I think most people just look at the pictures anyways :)
I used one of my favorite greens China Glaze "I'm With The Life Lifeguard" I started with 2 nice coats.

For the gradient I used Butter London "Jack The Lad"

I think these polishes go really well together and I think they blended very well.

I felt that it still needed a little something, so....

I added a coat of Northern Lights! You can never go wrong with Northern Lights :)

i really wish my nails would stop breaking so they would all be the same length for once. I hate chopping my nails down just because one breaks :(

My nails make me think of limes, limes covered in glitter lol.

Well that's it for today. After I get this post up I am going to be posting a surprise!!! So keep your eyes open. Thanks for reading!

Sticks N Stones In The Snow

I don't know why I didn't think of this combination before. I love how this turned out. I actually wore it for New Year's Eve, but I didn't go out, but I did wok in the morning lol. I went out for NYE when I first turned 21, and after that I've always stayed in. I just don't like going out for the big holidays because every place is more packed and more expensive. Plus you have to deal with all the idiots on the road. So I just stay home.

This year I spent it with my mom drinking a bottle of champagne and watching The Walking Dead marathon! I love that show. My poor mom had never seen it so I had to explain what was going on, but it was ok since I like to talk lol. Ok anyways on to my nails.

I LOVE Ninja Polish "Sticks N Stones" I really need to get another bottle. I don't think there is any polish this doesn't look awesome over. I started with my wonderful glue base, and then 3 coats of China Glaze "Glistening Snow" This is an awesome polish and it applies wonderfully. I should try and get a back up of this polish too if I can find one :)

I then applied 2 coats of SNS over all my nails except my ring finger.

On my ring finger I applied 3 coats of China Glaze "All That Glitters"

This polish really makes me think of Mardi Gras lol

I got the idea to layer this over GS from the sparse holo glitter in SNS. I think all the polishes worked well together.

I think everyone needs to own SNS, it makes a great topper for just about any polish. Every combination I've tried has looked nothing less then awesome!

So pretty and full of sparkle!

I've been having issues with my nails breaking a lot, I've been considering investing in a pair of Custom Nails, but i want to do a little more research on them first.

Well that's if for now. Have you found any combinations using Sticks N Stones that you Hate/Love? Do you own custom nails, or been considering getting them? Please let me know in the comments below. I may not always respond but I do read every comment :) Thanks so much for reading and have a great day!
