Revlon Giveaway!

I've been meaning to have a giveaway but I just haven't gotten to it. Well I finally got to it! Up for grabs are 3  Revlon polishes:

"Ritz" "Girly" and "Heavenly"

This giveaway is open to only US followers. You must be a follower of my blog, I wish you all luck!

4th of July Skittles

I couldn't decide what to do for a 4th of July mani, so I kinda just did a little of everything. I used more polishes then I thought I would lol.

These are all the polishes I used: Finger Paints "Santa's Magic" Hard Candy "Fireworks" Fing'rs Heart 2 Art "Star Crossed Lovers" Wet N' Wild Fergie "Hollywood Walk Of Fame" Essie "Blanc" China Glaze "Splish Splash" and Zoya "Sarah"

I started out with a base coat of Essie "blanc" it's been my go to white polish. It applies well, but it needed 3 coats to be fully opaque. I used 3 coats for a good starting point. I then started painting... This is what I ended up with:

Here is the break down of each nail. All are over 3 coats of white.

On my thumbs I used 2 coats of Zoya "Sarah" and using a striping brush I used Essie "blanc" again. This is suppose to be like the stripes on the flag.

Next on the pointer finger I had to have the blue with stars, so I did 2 coats of China Glaze "Splish Splash" This polish is from last years summer neon collection (which is still one of my favorite collections) Application was smooth and opaque.

I then used Fing'rs Heart 2 Art "Star Crossed Lovers" for the stars. They were being a pain so I used a dotting tool to place the stars in random places.

On my middle fingers I applied Wet N' Wild Fergie "Hollywood Walk Of Fame" again I had to use a dotting tool to place the stars, and I didn't even realize I put them in a circle until I was editing the photos. It makes me think of fireworks :)

The ring fingers are 2 coats of Hard Candy "Fireworks" the combo of red and blue made me think of the 4th so I though it was fitting. I wasn't crazy about this polish. It applies to messy for my likes. I think I might have liked it a little better if I had put it over a red base so that it looked more opaque.

On my pinky nails I just applied 2 coats of Finger Paints "Santa's Magic" It applied nicely and I had no issues with it.

After all of this was done I still felt like it needed something.

 Hmmmmm......

AH HA!!! Just add a glitter top coat :) That always makes everything better! So that is just what I did.

I guess it will do. I think if I would have thought about it more I think I could have come up with something better.

So what do you think? Does it make you think of 4th of July?

Thanks for reading and have a great holiday!!

Spotted Beach Cruiser

So for today's mani i forgot to take a picture of the base color on it's own, but you can still see it pretty well. I believe that this will be my first post showing out of new Custom Nails. I think they are the best investment I've made in a long time. If you would like to know more about them you can check out their website: Custom Nail Solutions.

I started out with 2 coats of China Glaze "Beach Cruiser" which is from last years summer neons collections. I really loved that collection and I made sure to get backups of my favorite ones :)

I then topped "Beach Cruise-r" with 2 coats of All That Glitters "Spotty Dottie Dark" which is just a matte black glitter mix. I got this as a gift along with "Spotty Dottie Light" in a gift exchange a little bit ago.

I decided that I still needed something at that point so I applied another polish on top...

I recently picked this polish up from Target. This is a very sheer polish and I don't think it would become opaque very easy, so I think it works best as a topper.

Bongo "Sweet Cheeks" is a very sheer pink with a blue iridescence. I think this is what really made the mani. I love how it turned out even though I failed at taking pictures of each step. But in the long run I got the pictures that mattered :)

What do you think of this mani? Do you think it needs something else? or something less?

Thank you so much for reading. I have a review post coming up shortly so stay tuned for that! Have a great Sunday afternoon.

Mermaid Nails

This is another mani from the vault that I never posted. I went through a lot of pictures and I ended up deleting quite a few manis due to the fact that they were pretty old and clean up wasn't that great, therefore I decided it was best to just delete them. One that made it to see the light of day is my first try at mermaid nails.

I started out with 2 coats of Orly "Halley's Comet"

"Halley's Comet" went on smooth and was very opaque. I just love this polish. It really makes me think of a mermaid!

I then used Sinful Colors "Nail Junkie" on the top 2/3rd's of the nail.

"Nail Junkie" is a wonderful teal colored jelly polish packed with different size and shades of blue and gold glitters.

I wanted to add a little more gold to my nails so I added a very thin layer of Spoiled "Pirate's Booty" to the entire nail.

To make this actually look like a mermaid, I stamped over the nails with a basic silver polish using Mash stamping plate #39.

I really like how this turned out... even though the stamping isn't perfect, but that is my fault, not the plate or polishes fault :)

In the end I am very happy with the end result, but I do plan on trying this one again.

What do you think? Have you tried doing mermaid nails?

Thanks so much for reading. Please keep an eye out for my up coming giveaway. I just want to share  some of my current favorite things. Have a great day!!!

Ahoy! I'm Scattered & Tattered!!!

I know I've been MIA lately and I apologize. A little over 2 months ago I started dating a really awesome and wonderful guy so I haven't had a lot of down time. I decided to go through some of the old photos I had saved that never got posted. Since this is an old mani please excuse the the not so great clean up.

First up is this pretty mani:

So pretty right?? Here's how it came to life!!

I started out with 2 coats of China Glaze "Ahoy!" which is a deep magenta jelly polish with a gold shimmer. I'm normally not a fan of pink, but I love it when it's pink nail polish lol. It's really weird, but it works :)

I wish I could have gotten a better picture of the shimmer, but trust me, it's really pretty.

I then added 2 coats of China Glaze "Scattered & Tattered"

This was apart of the Glitz Bitz 'N Pieces Collection. This polish is made up of various red and black glitters in a clear base

I really love Glitz Bitz 'N Pieces polishes, which is why I bought the whole collection lol. These are awesome layering polishes

Well that's it for today. I am going to try and post again soon, but since it is a holiday weekend I can't promise lol. Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!!!
