Turquoise Granite

I finally got around to trying something new. I saw this picture awhile ago...

This is from Spektor's Nails. It is like doing a water marble, but you only use one color and then you spray hand sanitizer on to it while it is in the water...

Here is a video from Cutepolish to show you what I mean :)

Ok so now that you know what is going on here is what I did :)

I started out with 2 coats of Julep "Lena" which is a nice turquoise with a slight golden shimmer. Sadly the shimmer isn't as noticeable on the nail :( but it is a very opaque polish and I could have gotten away with 1 coat, but I did an extra coat for good measure!

This polish went on smooth, like butter! I own quite a few julep polishes but I just haven't used them much.

For the black I used China Glaze "Liquid Leather." My left hand for the most part turned out great. It took a few tries to get what I wanted, but I'm not great at water marbling to begin with. I love this look!!

I wanted to add a little gold to it like in my inspiration picture so I used one of my cheap nail art pens. This one can be used to ways, like a pen or with a thin brush. I used the thin brush part.

Not really sure if this is the brand or not. I bought a bunch of then for $2 each at a random store at the mall awhile ago.

My left hand looks awesome :)

The thumb wasn't that great though :(

My right hand.... not so great. I think part of it was because I was getting tired, and my shoulder was bothering me. I've been having pain under my shoulder blade for a couple weeks, it comes and goes. So I just wanted to finish and ended up rushing on my right hand.

For my first try at this, I think it turned out decent!

Nice picture on a afghan my granny made years ago. She is gone now so it is nice to have things that remind me of her :)

These are the best out of them all!

This is what the polish looks like in the water after spraying with the hand sanitizer. I sprayed a couple times to get it to break up more. You want to make sure you don't spray it too close. Practice, practice, practice!

My like sprayer that I bought at the dollar store.

Well my friends that is all for today. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know what you think. Feel free to post any mani's you do that are similar on my facebook page :)

Walking Dead Holidays

Today I wanted to share a mani with you that I just did and am wearing as I write this post. I also have a few pics of things I've gotten recently.

First, my mani...
I started a glue base like I did when ever I plan to wear glitter. I then applied 2 coats of China Glaze "With Love" which is a lovely bright red creme. It is a very opaque polish and I probably could have gotten away with just 1 coat, but I did 2 just because I can :)

This polish is from this years holiday collection Holiday Joy

I then did 2 coats of All That Glitters "Walking Dead" I won this polish in a giveaway a little while ago and  I think this is my first time wearing. I love that this polish is named after one of my favorite shows. It's metallic red, white and black glitter in various sizes in a sheer reddish base.

"Walking Dead" is a bit on the thicker side, I might have to add a little bit of thinner to it. It actually applied great despite being a bit thick. The pictures show 2 coats applied like normal polish. I didn't have to dab to fish for glitter, or place anything.

I like how it kinda muted "With Love" so it wasn't so bright. I think this is a great combo for this zombie named polish, but it also kinda works for the holiday season ") lol

I think red polishes are one of the hardest colors to do clean up on. What do you think?

So next I want to share a package that I got on X-mas eve. When I got the box I had no clue what it held. It was a very kind package from someone in a facebook group I'm in. It's called a RAOK (Random Act Of Kindness) and it really was. I haven't really celebrated X-mas for the last few years so the holidays just aren't the same. This little box really meant a lot to me and made my holiday really great. I owe it all to Sam H. :)

Everything wrapped and still in the box. After I read the card I decided to take pics since it really meant a lot.

 Everything out of the box.

Everything unwrapped. I love everything and included a lot of brands I haven't tried yet. The scents are so yummy. This package meant more then anyone can imagine.

Next up is my X-mas gift from my mom, even though we agreed we weren't doing gifts. When I said that her response was "But I'm your mother" lol My mom totally knows me. I LOVE Taco Bell and skulls.

She also got my favorite chocolates, Ferrero Rocher, and the sleep pants that i had recently pointed out at Walmart a few days ago :) The Eggnog taffy is open because I ate a piece before taking pics :) Taste just like eggnog, so good!

This is what I won from a multi blogger giveaway. The blogger I won my prize from was The Do It Yourself Lady The only thing missing is the rhinestone wheel that I just realized lol. It was just clear rhinestones.

The polishes are KleanColor "Holo Chrome," Finger Paints "Tough Art To Follow," Every Beauty "She Rock'd It!," and a min Zoya "Zuza"

Lastly are a few Julep polishes I got I don't remember what the boxes are they came from, but I know 3 of them I got for free using my points for a free box, and a free add-on :) I love these colors!

Julep "Vivien," "Ivy," "Cindy," and "Harper"

Well that's it for today. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed everything. Have a great night!!

Day 8 Metallic Nails

Today is metallic nails... OMG I HAVE A PROBLEM!!!! I guess it is official that when I don't know what to do I do a gradient lol. I'm sure your all tired of seeing them, but I am going to try and mix it up a little more from here on out.

Both of the polishes I used are untrieds. I started out with 2 coats of Butter London "Dodgy Barnett"

I did that gradient with Julep "Kim"

I'm not sure if this is considered metallic or not, but I think they are.
I love how the 2 colors blended together. I really need to lay off the gradients lol. This is the last one for a while I promise.... well except for the gradient day... but other then that, no more for awhile.
Alrighty, well that's it for today. I hope you aren't to tired of all the gradients. Please check back tomorrow for Rainbow nails. Make sure to check out the other ladies below. Have a great night :)

Happy 4th of July!!!!

Today I have 2 4th of July manis to show you. First is the mani that I wore on Monday...
For this mani I used O.P.I. "Alpine Snow" China Glaze "Blue Year's Eve" and "Ruby Pumps" and Icing "Patriotic Princess"

I started out with a coat of "Alpine Snow", and then used "Alpine Snow", "Blue Year's Eve" and "Ruby Pumps" to do a gradient sponging on each nail.

I then applied one coat of "Patriotic Princess" to each nail

My second mani I tried something a little different. This time I started with 1 coat of Spoiled "Correction Tape" and then applied striping tape like such:

Then using Essence "Glamorous Life" and "Hard To Resist" I sponged over the striping tape.
"Correction Tape"

"Glamorous Life"
Some of the striping tape moved during the sponging process, but I still like the outcome :)

 "Hard To Resist"

On my ring finger I used 2 coats of Julep "America"

Well that's it for today. Thanks for reading and I hope everyone had a fun, and hopefully cool day. It's been in the 100's here today!

Night!!!
