Shredded Orange!

This is a simple mani that works for the season and for Halloween. No nail art abilities needed. And it looks so pretty! Please excuse the crap clean up. I usually do my nails at night and since it was getting late and I was getting tired I kinda slacked on the clean up...but I still think the end results are nice :)

I started with a glue base, and then 2 coats of Collection 2000 "Hip Hop" It's a bright orange and the formula is pretty good.

I then added 2 coats of Spoiled "Vitamin C" I was going to just use this polish as the base but I realized that it is a very sheer polish that really needs underwear. I find it to be a beautiful color. It's a nice bright orange with a very strong gold shimmer.

 Sooooo Beautiful!

Sorry for all the pictures, but I think this polish is worthy of  like nail porn :) I could stare at these nails all day.

 Hehe ok last one :)

I then topped this beauty with 2 coats (1 dabbed on) of The Icing "Shredded" It's a really cool polish that looks like pencil shavings. I think it looks great over this polish, and just about any other polish you could put it over.

This polish is a top coat eater. I'm one of those people that will pick at stuff, so I NEEDED this to be smoothed out lol. I think I did 4 coats of my clear quick dry. If I had been thinking I would have used my Gelous top coat, but sometimes I forget I have it lol.

I just love how this turned out and I think it looks great for the fall season, and it makes a great look for Halloween as well.

Well that's it for tonight. I hope you enjoyed this mani as much as I do. If you follow me in Instagram you would have seen a preview of my nails, if your not and would like to follow me my name on there is "Raeven13"

Thank you for reading and please remember to follow me if you haven't done so already. Thanks!!!

Day 17: Glitter

Today's theme was a bit vague... Glitter... I decided to try something new that I've never done before. I did a Jelly sandwich :) My first ever!!! And I love Love LOVE it!

Since I was going to be using glitter I used Elmer's glue as my base coat. You can't use anything between the nail and the glue, I learned that the hard way. After the glue fully dried I added 2 coats of Revlon "Rich Raspberry" It a bright happy medium between pink and purple. I found myself liking it more then I thought I would.

After that I applied 2 semi-thin coats of Orly 'Atomic Splash' I had to do a little dabbing with the brush, but for the most part it applied great. I didn't have to fish any glitters out either. I guess you could call this a gunmetal glitter. It's not sliver, or gray or even black. Kinda a mix of them all. Either way I liked it :)

I was originally going to use Butter London "Disco Biscuit" but I didn't give the effect I wanted so I ended up choosing Icing "Lipstick and Lovers"

2 coats of "Lipstick and Lovers" I love the blue shift and how clearly it translates from the bottle to the nail.

I think the way it changes the color of the glitter is pretty awesome.

All in all I am very happy with how this turned out and I am totally going to be doing more jelly sandwiches.. Which is funny because in real life I dislike jelly very much. I prefer just the peanut butter on toasted bread ugh.. yeh..... Umm so as you can see the color of the top polish affects the color of the glitter that lies below it.

Look at all the pretty blue shimmer :)

Well my friends, that's it for today. Thanks so much for reading and make sure to check back tomorrow for half-moon day. And remember to check out all the awesome manis below :)

Happy 4th of July!!!!

Today I have 2 4th of July manis to show you. First is the mani that I wore on Monday...
For this mani I used O.P.I. "Alpine Snow" China Glaze "Blue Year's Eve" and "Ruby Pumps" and Icing "Patriotic Princess"

I started out with a coat of "Alpine Snow", and then used "Alpine Snow", "Blue Year's Eve" and "Ruby Pumps" to do a gradient sponging on each nail.

I then applied one coat of "Patriotic Princess" to each nail

My second mani I tried something a little different. This time I started with 1 coat of Spoiled "Correction Tape" and then applied striping tape like such:

Then using Essence "Glamorous Life" and "Hard To Resist" I sponged over the striping tape.
"Correction Tape"

"Glamorous Life"
Some of the striping tape moved during the sponging process, but I still like the outcome :)

 "Hard To Resist"

On my ring finger I used 2 coats of Julep "America"

Well that's it for today. Thanks for reading and I hope everyone had a fun, and hopefully cool day. It's been in the 100's here today!

Night!!!

For more on Julep nail polish you can find a list of all of their polishes here!! Enjoy!

Shredded Mani & May/June Haul

I'm going to start out with a mani and then show you most of the polishes I've bought in May and most of June. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few, but it's still a lot lol.

So my mani today is pretty simple. Nothing special, but I still think it looks awesome. I started with 2 coats of China Glaze "Love's A Beach" I forgot to take a picture before adding 1 coat of Icing "Shredded"

I really liked this mani. I did have a few C.O.D. moments where I picked at the flakes that didn't lay flat. That was minor, and totally something that I can deal with and work with. I think this would look awesome over so many different colors.

Ok now on to my haul pictures!!!

First a few things I picked up from Big Lots:
Color Mates "Cabernet" "Spring Fling" and "Fuchsia Flash"
Revlon "Grapefruit Fizz" "Apple-tini Fizz" "Watermelon Fizz" "Pineapple Fizz" "Grape Fizz" and "Mint Fizz"
O.P.I. "Just Spotted The Lizard" "Number One Nemesis" Sally Hansen "Multi-Faceted" and "Ring-a-Ding"
 Color Club - Blossoming Set

Orly - "Swizzle Stick" "Steel Your Heart" "Green Apple" "Butterflies" "Prelude To A Kiss" "Oh Cabana Boy"

China Glaze "Love's A Beach" and "Orange You Hot?" Icing "Shredded" "Rave Royalty" "Pampered & Primped" and "What Planet Are You On"

The 4 Cos Bar's have no names, but you can find them at Target, O.P.I. "It's Totally Fort-Worth It" "Pirouette My Whistle" and "Shatter The Scales"

Revlon "Sorbet" Magicolor This polish stinks to high heaven lol, and Sally Girl neon orange

Well that's it for today. Now you see what I have to have a blog sale lol. Thanks for reading and have a great day/night!

Neons, Crackle, and Striping - Days 41, 42 & 43

Day 41 of the 90 Day Challenge
I did this mani before I realized that the popular trend right now is gradient manis. I wanted to do something bright, but I didn't want just one color. I decided to try doing a gradient. I haven't done many, maybe 1 or 2 in the past. I love how it came out :)
For this mani I did a base coat of China Glaze - "Oxygen" and then using a makeup sponge I sponged using:
China Glaze - "In The Lime Light"
Sinful Colors - "Neon Melon"
Sinful Colors - "Summer Peach"
China Glaze - "In The Lime Light"
Sinful Colors - "Neon Melon"
Sinful Colors - "Summer Peach"

Most of the nails turned out great. I had a few where the orange wanted to over take the yellow, but all and all it turned out awesome. I loved it and I can see me doing this one again. I plan on trying other neon colors. The sad thing though is while I had this mani I ended up breaking about 3 nails :( But on the upside they are all about the same length now!!

Day 42 of the 90 Day Challenge

My SO wanted me to paint my nails using green and gray. I decided to paint them green ad use gray crackle on top. The problem came when I couldn't decide which green to use.... so I choose 5 greens :)

L to R: China Glaze "Tree Hugger", "Four Leaf Clover", "Paper Chasing", Zoya "Ivanka", and Revlon "Rain Forest"

Thumb = "Rain Forest", Pointer = "Ivanka", Middle = "Paper Chasing", Ring = "Four Leaf Clover", Pinky = "Tree Hugger"

After I applied 2 coats of each polish to each nail I saw that 2 had a shimmer but the other 3 didn't so I added a coat of Icing "Call Me Glitzy" over the last 3. This way they all looked to have a similar finish.

I then added a coat of 2012 by Cherimoya "DNA" crackle polish.
Final Results:

All of the polishes went on great. The crackle was a bit thick and goopy, but it turned out so that's what matters :) I have a bunch of the 2012 crackles and I should use them more. I wonder if you can add thinner to crackle or if that would ruin it... Will have to do some research :)

Day 43 of the 90 Day Challenge

The last thing for today is a mani that I am currently wearing while typing up this post. I used the gradient method again but I also used some striping tape :)

I used 2 coats of Nicole by O.P.I. "Kim-Pletely In Love" but I forgot to take a picture :/ sorry

I then sponged over that using Sinful Colors "Dream On" and "Bikini"

 Sinful Colors "Dream On"

 Sinful Colors "Bikini"

I added a coat of SV Quick Dry and then applied striping tape to each nail. I used the same designs on my other hand too. I then applied 1 coat of China Glaze "Smoke and Ashes"

I need to work on getting my tape straight but other then that I really like the results :)

Well that's it for today. I'm trying to catch up with the 90 challenge that's why I posted for 3 days in one post.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway!!
