Neon Waterfall Nails

Man I am a horrible blogger *hangs head in shame* I'm not going to make any promises about the future. I am going to try and get myself to post more, but I guess it will happen when it happens. So on to my nails...

I've been seeing "waterfall" nails for awhile and I finally decided to give it a try. Here is my inspiration:

The Nailasaurus seems to have started this look, I may be wrong but I still love it. If you click the picture it will take you to all of her Waterfall nails and a tutorial. 

Here is my try at it, but first please excuse my dry and ugly cuticle and I missed a little bit of clean up. It was late when I was doing them and I was tired. Please forgive me my sins lol. Ok here goes:

 For the base I used Sinful Colors "Skylark" it is a great polish. The formula was smooth and almost totally opaque in one coat. I did two for good measure.I really like the color, I'm not really sure how to describe it, but I don't like I really have anything else like it in my collection.

  

 Using a striping brush I went through the colors I had picked out and placed random strokes on each nail.

 After I had used each color I went through them again to fill in any gaps I had. The polishes I used were:

 China Glaze "I'm With The Lifeguard" One of my favorite neon greens.

 China Glaze "Hanging In The Balance"

 Essie "The Lace Is On" This is a BEAUTIFUL purple polish. I just loved it even just seeing it as a few strokes on my nails.

 China Glaze "Pool Party"

 Revlon "Hypnotize"

 Sinful Colors "Glimmer"

 After I finished I decided to add a coat of "Northern Lights" topcoat because I love sparkle :)

 All in all I like how it turned out. Both hands turned out a little different. /\ my right hand

 I like my right hand a little better because I made the stroke a bit longer. The left hand looks like too much of the base color is showing.

It's been awhile, but I'm still here!

I've been busy this last month or so. I got out of a bad relationship. I got in a car accident and had my car totaled. I met a great new guy who is better and nicer then anything I could have ever imagined. I just got a new vehicle. It's nothing awesome but I like it. So with all that I have a little down time so I thought I would get a quick post up. Oh and I can tell I really like the new guy because I haven't done my nails a lot lately. My last polish stayed on for over a week!!! lol that's like forever. But I'm not complaining :) Oh to the polish...

I started out with a bast of China Glaze "White on White" I really don't care for this white. I have yet to find a white that I really like that has a good formula. I feel like "White on White'" is kind of a chalky formula, but I just went with it. I then used China Glaze "Gothic Lolita" to sponge over the top halves of my nails.

 Base 2 coats of China Glaze "White on White"

 Sponged China Glaze "Gothic Lolita" Such a wonderful polish. I love everything about it.

 I decided to top the gradient with China Glaze "Bling It On" which is part of a recent collection that I love. I love glitter toppers :)

 This is the purple of the collection.

 I think they look great and I love how they turned out!

Pink and Purple Gradient

In case you haven't realized by now, I really love gradients. I love doing them. I love how they look. As I love the endless combinations. I can't say I've perfected the gradient, but I think in general mine usually turn out pretty well. So with that said here is my latest gradient!

 I started out with 2 coats of Rimmel London "Pulsating" I really love this polish. The formula was wonderful. The coverage was perfect. The color is beautiful. The second the brush touch my nail I knew I was in love and needed to get a back up :)

 I had second thoughts about doing a gradient since I loved this polish so much, but I knew it was just going to make the gradient even better since it was already so awesome looking.

 The second polish I used was Zoya but I don't know the name of it :( at some point the label fell off, or made it was never there. So I'm not sure what the color is, if you think you know please let me know.

 I think these two colors work perfectly together. I love how this turned out.

 This came out perfect. I don't think I could have done it any better.

 Sorry for being kinda spammy... but I just love this mani and I couldn't decide what pictures to use, so I just used them all hehe :) I didn't notice the little bit of polish on my pinky lol so please excuse that :)

 After a day I decided to add an accent nail so I used a polish I was looking for everywhere, and had finally found that day. I added two coats of Revlon "Heavenly" I guess this is a dupe of a Deborah Lippmann "Stairway To Heaven" but I don't own it, but I did find a good comparison here: thekarend

NO H8 In The Nail Polish Community

 

Eradicate Hate In The Nail Polish Community

 

Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it is not okay.
Most of us are, thankfully, residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. Generations later, it is our responsibility to perpetuate that message of tolerance across our new social platforms, including the internet.

As members of the nail polish blogging community, we all share a love of beauty, color, and lacquer. Other than that, we are remarkably different: from our race to our religion to our hair color...even to our polish application techniques. To marginalize anyone because of those differences is completely unacceptable and today I take a stand against that. I refuse to allow other people's view of "normal" dictate how I behave, believe, and blog.

In solidarity with a multitude of bloggers linked below, my purple manicure represents my proud commitment to the No H8 movement. Today, November 8, I dedicate my post to ending bullying of any kind and to encouraging diversity and imperfection among our colorful community.

I find it so sad that this is even an issue. As someone who dealt with bullying when I was in school I know the pain and damage it can cause. I remember when I started my blog, and this was something that never even crossed my mind. I'm very lucky in the fact that I've never experienced this through my blog. I've found nothing but kindness and acceptance in the nail polish community. I hate that anyone should have to go through this.

 

It's nail polish for heaven's sake!!! If you don't like someones nail cleanup, or lack of, then don't read that blog. It's as simple as that. For some people, myself included, our blogs are an outlet for us. It is a place we feel safe and comfortable. Bullying is never ok... NEVER!

 

I was a little late to find that today was the day for purple manis, so I hope you will accept something from my vault. I wish you all happiness, love, and may your polish always make you happy, because that's the only thing that really matters.

Oh My Toxic Glitter Apple! Gradient

I love gradients. I was missing them during the 30 day challenge last month. I wanted to try new things so I told myself to not do any gradients unless there was no other option. So I've been missing them quite a bit and I think this gradient makes for a great comeback!!! Let me know what you think.

 

 I used Wet N Wild "Toxic Apple" and...

 

 Essence "Oh My Glitter!

 

 I love this gradient so much. It looks so much more drool-worthy in person.

 

 "Oh My Glitter!" has a strong gorgeous pink shimmer... BEAUTIFUL!!!

 

 

 The pink shimmer shows up so much more in person too.

 

Both of these polishes applied great and they worked wonderful for a gradient. I think it works as a Halloween mani too which works out great since it's October.

 

October is also the 1 year anniversary of my blog, and I can't believe that I have 300 followers. I just want to thank everyone for reading my blog and following me. I really want to have a giveaway for all of this, but I have to hold off a little longer, but I promise to have one soon to thank you all for being so awesome!!!
