Ruby Red Pumps Gradient

I started doing my nails the other night and got so into it that I almost forgot to take pictures.. So in the pictures of the base color you will see some tape on my fingers. When I do gradients I always put tape around my nails after doing my base color. I find this makes cleanup a lot easier. Well I had started doing the gradient on one hand when I realized that I didn't take a picture. I didn't want to take the tape off and have to put it back on, so I hope you understand. :) Ok enough babble and on to the nails!!!

I did 2 coats of China Glaze "Snap My Dragon" In the picture I'm sure you can see the nail line. I don't know if I told you all yet but a few months ago I bought a set of Custom Nails from CNS. I love these things, and I think it is the best purchase I've made in quite some time. The reason the line is so visible is that they are permanent french tip so it is had to get opaque coverage with out a white base coat. It really isn't so noticeable in person. If you want to know more about these nails check out their site here: Custom Nail Solutions.. moving on :)

This color is very pretty. The formula is wonderful and very smooth. I had no issues with this polish. It is from their Avant Garden Collection. I think I ended up buying most of the collection. "Snap my Dragon" is a bright reddish-pink with pink shimmer.

For the gradient I used another China Glaze polish, "Ruby Pumps" This is another polish that is beautiful. It is a bright red jelly loaded with red glitterIt is part of the core collection, but I've heard that some people have a hard time getting their hands on it since it is so popular.

"Ruby Pumps" is another wonderful polish. I applied it to the top portion of all my nails (and the bottom of my ring finger) using a makeup sponge.

The final result of this gradient ended up being very subtle which I liked. I love gradients so this was a nice way to change it up a little and not have something that was super noticeable.

All in all I think this turned out great and look forward to using other polishes from the Avant Garden collection

These two polishes worked very well together. Just another reason why I love China Glaze so much.

Green-Teal Gradient Spotted!

I know I haven't been around much but I'm still kicking. I am currently suffering from a really bad sunburn I got this weekend while up north with my guy. So here is what was on my nails for the weekend!

I started out with 2 coats of Essie "Blanc" which has been my current go to white base polish.

I then did 2 coats of one of my favorite neon greens China Glaze "I'm With The Life Guard" I just love everything about this polish. I have several bottles of it :) The application is awesome, it's a lovely bright neon green.

It dries a little matte, but with top coat it just glows.

For the gradient I used another China Glaze polish. This one is "Custom Kicks"

I really think these two go together great. It's a very beautiful and smooth gradient. Gradients are by far my favorite thing to do.

How awesome does that look? I still couldn't leave it alone lol... so I added an accent nail...

Maybelline Color Show "Clearly Spotted" is from their current Polka Dots collection that includes 4 other polishes. I love this polish and I think I have several versions of the matte black and white glitters from several different brands.

The other 4 in this collection are the same glitters in a colored base, green, blue, orange, and pink. I bought them all :) This mani still felt like it needed something.

My good old Northern Lights topcoat was there to same the day :)

 It finally felt completed!

I love this mani and I have been wearing it for almost a week. Tonight it is coming off though for something new. Do you like this mani? What are your thoughts on gradients? Would you like to see more? Less?

Revlon Giveaway!

I've been meaning to have a giveaway but I just haven't gotten to it. Well I finally got to it! Up for grabs are 3  Revlon polishes:

"Ritz" "Girly" and "Heavenly"

This giveaway is open to only US followers. You must be a follower of my blog, I wish you all luck!

4th of July Skittles

I couldn't decide what to do for a 4th of July mani, so I kinda just did a little of everything. I used more polishes then I thought I would lol.

These are all the polishes I used: Finger Paints "Santa's Magic" Hard Candy "Fireworks" Fing'rs Heart 2 Art "Star Crossed Lovers" Wet N' Wild Fergie "Hollywood Walk Of Fame" Essie "Blanc" China Glaze "Splish Splash" and Zoya "Sarah"

I started out with a base coat of Essie "blanc" it's been my go to white polish. It applies well, but it needed 3 coats to be fully opaque. I used 3 coats for a good starting point. I then started painting... This is what I ended up with:

Here is the break down of each nail. All are over 3 coats of white.

On my thumbs I used 2 coats of Zoya "Sarah" and using a striping brush I used Essie "blanc" again. This is suppose to be like the stripes on the flag.

Next on the pointer finger I had to have the blue with stars, so I did 2 coats of China Glaze "Splish Splash" This polish is from last years summer neon collection (which is still one of my favorite collections) Application was smooth and opaque.

I then used Fing'rs Heart 2 Art "Star Crossed Lovers" for the stars. They were being a pain so I used a dotting tool to place the stars in random places.

On my middle fingers I applied Wet N' Wild Fergie "Hollywood Walk Of Fame" again I had to use a dotting tool to place the stars, and I didn't even realize I put them in a circle until I was editing the photos. It makes me think of fireworks :)

The ring fingers are 2 coats of Hard Candy "Fireworks" the combo of red and blue made me think of the 4th so I though it was fitting. I wasn't crazy about this polish. It applies to messy for my likes. I think I might have liked it a little better if I had put it over a red base so that it looked more opaque.

On my pinky nails I just applied 2 coats of Finger Paints "Santa's Magic" It applied nicely and I had no issues with it.

After all of this was done I still felt like it needed something.

 Hmmmmm......

AH HA!!! Just add a glitter top coat :) That always makes everything better! So that is just what I did.

I guess it will do. I think if I would have thought about it more I think I could have come up with something better.

So what do you think? Does it make you think of 4th of July?

Thanks for reading and have a great holiday!!
