Disturbed Polish - Prude

Edit: I have been told by Annette, the owner of Disturbed Polish, that she now uses a new base, so any mention of the smell in my posts regarding these polishes is no longer and issue. I hope that everyone gives this brand a chance because I think they are awesome, and everyone should own at least a few.

Sorry for not posting in the last few days. I've been feeling a bit under the weather, mainly due to it being that time of the month lol. Today I have another Disturbed Polish to show you. This on is called "Prude"

Here's a quick bottle shot. How awesome is that! I don't even think I could name all the glitters in this bottle, but the main colors are pink, blue, silver, and black. It took me a little bit to figure out a good base for this glitter polish. This is what I came up with.

I started out with a glue base then 2 coats of Sally Hansen "Eel Skin." This is a nice light grey that tilts towards blue.

Originally I was only going to add another polish to the ring finger, but I really liked how it looked so I added it to all my nails.

The polish I layered on top of "Eel Skin" was 2 coats of Orly "Bluebell" I really love how these two polishes look together. It gives the nails a nice depth and I think it works really good with the glitter.

Look at how pretty that is!

"Prude" applied great. The glitter went on smooth and evenly. I used 2 coats, and like "Garbage Disposal" I love this polish! I also like that it laid flat and wasn't a topcoat eater to make it smooth.

I think there is a great combination of colors and shapes. I feel a bit spoiled with these polishes because the application is so wonderful, I use to usually dabbing chunky glitter on the nail or fishing, but not with these.

I highly recommend this brand. If you haven't checked them out yet you really should. Disturbing Behavior also sells some handmade jewelry that looks pretty awesome.

Well that's it for today. Thanks for reading and if you haven't done so already make sure to enter my giveaway. It ends in a few days.

Disturbed Polish - Garbage Disposal

Edit: I have been told by Annette, the owner of Disturbed Polish, that she now uses a new base, so any mention of the smell in my posts regarding these polishes is no longer and issue. I hope that everyone gives this brand a chance because I think they are awesome, and everyone should own at least a few.

Today I have a mani using one of the Disturbed Polish's that I showed you in my last post. The first one I am going to show you is "Garbage Disposal" I love the names of these polishes as much as I like the polish itself. Take a look for yourself! Disturbing Behavior The polishes are $6.75, but will be going to $7 February 1st due to glitter cost. If you have any questions the owner is really nice. They also sell a few other things besides polish. There is jewelry and some various cuticle care items and lip balms.

Since this has just about every color glitter in it I couldn't decide on a base coat so I just used a white and a black polish. This is one coat of 'Garbage Disposal' I didn't have to dab or fish for the glitters. Application was great and had a pretty much uniform coverage.

I'm trying to use my macro lens more so the some of the pictures may not be the best, but you can still see the beauty of this polish. If really does have more colors then a rainbow!

It makes me think of those funfetti cakes :)

Disturbed Polish 'Garbage Disposal' 2 coats. The second coat went on great and I didn't notice any dragging or pulling. Plus it dried fairly quickly.

This is such a fun polish and I really can't think of a color it would look bad layered over. I like that once it dried it was pretty smooth. I did add a Gelous topcoat and a quick dry topcoat. I can't stand it when my polish isn't flat and smooth.

This is just awesomeness in a bottle!

I need to get a better set up for taking my macro shots. This was one of the best ones I could get. At least you can really see all the colors :)

I wonder how many coats it would take to be opaque? I love this polish, and I can't wait to try it over everything!!

Two last macro shots for you :)
I'm so glad I took a chance and got these polishes. I think they are so awesome and I think everyone should try them, even if you just get one bottle... I know you'll love them.

I know in my last post I said I was going to includes pictures of the mini bottle I got and the other item, but I think I will save those for their own post. Remember Disturbed Polish  is 3 free. Please go check out the store! Disturbing Behavior

I just want to thank every one for reading and following my blog. I hope you have all entered my giveaway, it ends on January 31st so you still have some time. Keep an eye out for my next post with another Disturbed Polish!!! Have a great week.

Disturbing Behavior Polish? - Get Some!

Edit: I have been told by Annette, the owner of Disturbed Polish, that she now uses a new base, so any mention of the smell in my posts regarding these polishes is no longer and issue. I hope that everyone gives this brand a chance because I think they are awesome, and everyone should own at least a few.

Sometimes when I'm bored I tend to search Etsy, Storenvy, or other sites where you can find handmade or Indie products/companies. On one of my searches I came across the store Disturbing Behavior on Storenvy. I've bought from several indie cosmetics companies, but I don't normally buy indie polishes. No real reason, but as I looked through this store I decided to take a chance, and I'm really glad I did. The polishes were so unique looking and different from the other polishes in my collection, plus I felt the price was very reasonable.

I ended up buying 4 polishes, Here they are:
I love the names of these polishes! It was hard to just buy a few because I want almost all of them. But I restrained myself since this was a new to me brand, and I had never even heard of it, nor could I find swatches other then on the site. The bottles are 13ml, and 3 free.

Disturbed Polish "Garbage Disposal" "Prude" "Bitchy Teenager" and "Redneck X-Mas" All of the polishes I got are toppers, meaning they are meant to be used over other polishes. I like to layer so these are perfect. Since I haven't really bought any indie polishes before I wasn't use to the smell. But honestly that was the only downside and I got over it lol.

"Garbage Disposal" is described as "a clear jelly base with TONS of tiny matte hex glitter in more colors than a rainbow." This is so true. I think there is just about every basic color plus a few, which to means this can be layered over just about any polish you could think of.  This was the first polish I picked out.

Next is "Prude" which is "a clear jelly polish with teal, hot pink, white, black, and silver glitters." There are so many different shapes in this polish that I think I find a new one every time I look at it. There's various size hexes, square, circle, and even some triangles and a few shreds.

This one I love because of the name "Bitchy Teenager" lol we all know one :)

"Bitchy Teenager" is "a clear base with a perfect mixture of hot pink & white hex along with black & white shredded glitters" I know the picture shows the pink as a bit more reddish then it really is. It's really a hot pink.

Last up is "Redneck X-Mas" I'd been looking for a x-masy glitter polish for a while so it would be my luck to find it after the holidays, but that's ok because now I have it from then next time I need it. I just realized that this polish is no longer on the site, but It still deserves to be shared. The main colors of the glitters are white, red, green, gold, and some holographic pieces. The majority of the shapes are Hex, various sizes, square, and smaller glitter.

Since I want to give each polish its own review, I'm just could to show a few quick swatches taken on nail wheels. Since these polishes were new to me I did 2 thin coats of each polish, but they can be more or less opaque as you see fit for your nails.

Please excuse the less then perfect macro pics, I'm still doing trial and error to get it right.

I had a lovely conversation with the owner of the store. She is so nice. When I told her I planned to do a review for my blog she sent me a mini bottle of a brand new polish, I didn't include with this post so I will but  it in my next post reviewing "Garbage Disposal" along with another little item I purchased.

I really look forward to placing another order as some as I have the money, If you decide to check this company Disturbing Behavior and end up making a purchase, could you just do me a little favor and let them know you found them through my blog. I am looking forward to working with them in the future and This way the can see if any of their traffic is coming from me,

My next post with have a review of  "Garbage Disposal" plus a few other items, so please keep an eye out.
Well I think that's it for today and I want to tank all of my wonderful readers, and please make sure to share this info with your polish loving friends. Good night all!

Pink and Purple Gradient

In case you haven't realized by now, I really love gradients. I love doing them. I love how they look. As I love the endless combinations. I can't say I've perfected the gradient, but I think in general mine usually turn out pretty well. So with that said here is my latest gradient!

I started out with 2 coats of Rimmel London "Pulsating" I really love this polish. The formula was wonderful. The coverage was perfect. The color is beautiful. The second the brush touch my nail I knew I was in love and needed to get a back up :)

I had second thoughts about doing a gradient since I loved this polish so much, but I knew it was just going to make the gradient even better since it was already so awesome looking.

The second polish I used was Zoya but I don't know the name of it :( at some point the label fell off, or made it was never there. So I'm not sure what the color is, if you think you know please let me know.

I think these two colors work perfectly together. I love how this turned out.

This came out perfect. I don't think I could have done it any better.

Sorry for being kinda spammy... but I just love this mani and I couldn't decide what pictures to use, so I just used them all hehe :) I didn't notice the little bit of polish on my pinky lol so please excuse that :)

After a day I decided to add an accent nail so I used a polish I was looking for everywhere, and had finally found that day. I added two coats of Revlon "Heavenly" I guess this is a dupe of a Deborah Lippmann "Stairway To Heaven" but I don't own it, but I did find a good comparison here: thekarend

And there you have it. Another post! Oh and I finally hit 600 follower!! Yah! Thanks so much for reading my blog. If you haven't done so already please enter my giveaway.

Two Polish Comparisons

I haven't done one of these posts in awhile, so I thought it was time. Since this is a comparison post, the clean up isn't perfect.

The first comparison is:
Ulta "Material Girl" vs Zoya "Blaze"
In the bottle they looked kinda similar, but on the nail.... Not even close lol. All nails are 2 coats.

"Material Girl" is more of a berry color where "Blaze" is on the reddish side. both have a scattered holo.

I personally prefer "Blaze" I didn't really care for "Material Girl" once I saw it on the nail. "Blaze" is a bit more shiny too.

Since I didn't really care for "Material Girl" I put it up on my blog sale, and it is already on it's way to a new home :)

The next comparison is"
China Glaze "Glistening Snow" vs. FingerPaints "Sparkle and Snowflake"

First I just want to note that while taking pictures I somehow scrapped my nail on my ring finger. I didn't realize this until after I took my pictures and was removing my polish... sorry :(

I love "Glistening Snow" and I've already bought a back up bottle. In the bottles these polishes look a lot alike. On the nail they are very similar, but they have a few slight differences.

The first nails are 1 coat over black. The next two nails are 2 coats on the bare nail. "Glistening Snow" is a more dense and opaque polish and can be worn alone, I've done it. "Sparkle and Snowflake" is more of a topper and less dense. Not a stand alone polish.

I love both of these polishes and they have a loving home. I think they are both great and the formulas are smooth. If I had to choose just one, it would be "Glistening Snow" but i don't have to choose so I'm keeping them both lol.

Well I hope this post was helpful. If you'd like to see more comparison posts please let me know. If no one really wants to see them then I guess there is no point in posting them.

Thanks for reading, and if you haven't done so already please enter my giveaway.
