Today I have a polka dot mani for you, or as I always say "pokie dot" hehe This is actually a mani I've been wanting to do for awhile, so this was the push I needed to finally do it.
I stated with 2 coats of one of my favorite greens, China Glaze "I'm With The Lifeguard" I love that it's neon and it is opaque without a need of underwear.
For the polka dots I used OPI "Every Month Is Oktoberfest" from the current Germany Collection, and is my untried. I love that it's a deep dark purple and it's noticeable purple and not black in person.
I used 3 different sizes dotting tools. I started out by using the largest dotting tool to kinda make a french tip on all nails and then using the largest and the other two sizes to kind of make a falling effect with the dots.
I really love how this mani turned out and I wish I would have done it sooner. I plan on doing this again using different colors. I almost don't want to take it off, but I am doing a challenge so it has to come off tonight to make way for my stripe mani.
Thank you for reading and please keep checking back for the rest of the 30 day challenge. Also check out the other ladies below :)
That is awesome!
ReplyDeleteYou create some amazing nail designs! They're honestly inspiring me to play with nail polish more than just painting on a single shade. A bit of advice regarding excess polish that gets on your fingers: take a Q-Tip and dip it in some remover, then take it around the edges of each nail, you can wipe it off & your finished nails will look salon-quality :) A little trick I learned from another polish blogger.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, great blog, keep the designs coming.
Thank you. I do need to take more time with my clean up. I usually end up doing my nails after work and before bed and once I'm done with a mani I just want to crawl in bed lol. But a better clean up does make a mani look a lot better. Thanks!!
Deletewhat a unique combo, love the base color.
ReplyDeleteMe too!! I made sure to get a back up bottle...or 2 lol
